It is not playing safe. It EA'sation. Basically publish half assed games with minimum effort and drive maximum profit out of it. Let's say instead of spending 3 years, spend only one and a half in development with 70-75% of sales. Less costs and less sales but overall higher margin. This works much better in sports and fps games that targets early teens and less on rpgs (hence the sinkage of dragon age and bioware) but EA never thinks long term anyway. Bethesda jumped in this car with Oblivion and later Skyrim. Fallout 4 is the latest entry.

They are not getting a free pass. After Skyrim I am done with them. I did not buy ES Online and Fallout 4 and will not buy any future game if they keep dumbing down their franchise.

I'd say Dark Souls 2 is the easiest to play. Boss fights were much easier than Dark Souls.

Pillars of Eternity. I found it much easier than Divinity to get into.

I think the trend is beginning to change. Until last year there was a perception that all games should have multiplayer component be either pvp or co-op.

@cavethug: Because most people accepts Dragon age and SWTOR are inferior. You keep giving examples of non EA games. Why aren't you talking about Star Warts Battlefront when it is a prime example of what you have been arguing all around even more than CoD or Destiny?

Are you working for EA bro? What is next? Why in reality Dragon Age is way better than Witcher or why SWTOR is a better MMO than WOW?

Just bought Witcher 3 expansion from Steam. My next purchase is probably MGS V followed by Bloodborne expansion or Dark Souls 3 depending on timing
