@deathstream @subrawk @deadpen i'm basing this on the info given within the article. if he was jailed for anything else other than a facebook comment, that would be a different article and thus my opinion would be different. but nowhere in the article has it stated that, and furthermore, if there was more evidence that he may be a threat to do actions such as mass school shooting and cannibalism, i don't think they would give him bond at 500, 000, or bond at all.
@deadpen the comment wasn't just said out of nowhere. he said it sarcastically when a friend of his called him crazy. as in bad taste as the comment was, within context of the conversation it was clear he meant no harm by it.
seriously, imagine making a comment like "i'm gonna kill everyone in c.o.d. tonight" and someone reads it or overhears it and has no idea what "c.o.d" is, so they get scared and snitches on you. do you think being jailed for months and hit with a $500,000 bail is reasonable?
don't you think you should be at least asked first about what you meant before they throw the book at you like that?
@lo_crow98 i'm under the impression that the judge was either really emotional about previous school shootings, or that he was trying to make an impression that he's a "no tolerance" type of judge. either that or he wanted to feed more inmates to the booming business of the prison industrial system. whatever the reason is, i can't see the decision being made because he actually deserved it.
