@ReadySebbyGo Nicely put Seb! And if you had any influence on that ending it was hilarious.
Here's the real scoop. Phil Fish is a brilliant man, but he like many other brilliant people don't have the social skills down. Yeah he comes off as a cry baby and sadly that is a nerd reflex, I know cause I have it too :) People suck!
He can't take the heat get out of the kitchen, and that's what he did.
At lease he knew his weakness,... critisism.
I glad jonny lepreacan nobe is MIA, hope he vacations in america so I CAN KICK HIM in his bread. And this Fish guy can suck on my american beef jerky wizard.
Out of all the developers in Indie Game: The Movie, the guys who made Super Meat Boy seemed like the most deserving of my money. Fish complained a lot, he is egotistical, and just sort of whiny. Fez looked like a cool game, but I just could not bring myself to give that guy my money after watching him piss and moan for thirty minutes. His retirement from video game design is not a shock, he does not posses the gumption to hack it in the video game world. Especially if the interwebs got him so riled up that he rage quit right out of the industry. Where will this man child get a job now? *heavy sigh* What a waste of talent.
I'd be more concerned if GTA V or MGS V were cancelled.
So to me, meh. As for you that wished for FEZ 2, I send my condolences to your kangaroo wife.
He's a pathological narcissist. The only reliable means of dealing with a tantrum-throwing worm like him is to ignore him. He'll come crawling back after he is forgotten and ignored. The faster you ignore him, the faster you'll get your next gimmick-based puzzle platformer,
Wow, I don't even know what to say about all the twitter hate and such. On another note I will say, if you have a solid product and it's selling well with people clamoring for more then why leave. Who cares what some guy who can't program a game or anything says. I bet when he works his first shift in a retail position in the future or something boring like that he'll have second thoughts.
Am I the only person who thought Marcus Beer was a complete asshole as well? Granted, Fish should have manned up a bit, but come on. Marcus was a complete jerk for no reason.
Honestly, although ignorant and immature. Its the dude's call. No one tells you what to do or not do with your life. Plus, I don't have all the info but if I spent like 5 years pouring my heart and soul into a game only to be constantly berated and abused by the people you made the game for well............... I have never been there but I might want to say "Fuck you I am going home" Too.
Fish deserves whatever ridicule he got for his meltdown. Someone was a spoiled little brat growing up. This is exactly why parents SHOULD be allowed to beat their kids. The world is a cruel place, where most of the time, things don't go your f**cking way.
I had no idea the origins of his rage... aka the twitter battle and why it all started in the first place. Upon hearing it... yeah I lost all sympathy for him. Good Riddance.
Lmao this Fish guy is an idiot. Stay the hell out of games please if this is your attitude. Who the hell does he think he is? EA gets most hated company twice and I don't see any of their employees crying all the way to the bank.
@SourPatchRash Now now, there's trying to get on feedbackula, and then there's desperation.
@Llama345 Him and Kanye West would be a perfect couple. I can see it now...those two swimming off together like dolphins in the ocean with a magnificient sunset in the background.
@tiapaola I like this guy better. He seems less pompous.
@DinoFarmBlake He's also not helping his imagine by trying to revive the Civil War beard! lol
@bigruss51 I'll get some BFF necklaces made up!
@drumma1 fish was a jerk for no reason to, some of the shit he said on panels or on twitter were just assinine.
@rasputin177 oh boo hoo he worked so hard and people criticized him, just like how he said japanese games suck, you can't criticize one type of game and then get upset when people criticize yours.
@eldincata Yeah I am worried.
Pompous is the part of the show and its charm, it's an act. I like that a lot.
@stan_boyd @rasputin177 sure you can, if you spent 5 years of your life working on a project as big as videogame is, and people started talking shit (with or without reason) you would take it very personally.
hell, i don't even know how old you are, but i'm sure that if you aren't still in school/university at some point in your life you attended classes, and i'm also sure that one day you worked really fucking hard on a test/essay/presentation and your teacher thought it was just ok, or maybe it was crap, and you took it in a very bad way.
if you invest enough of yourself in something, if it goes bad, you take it too personally, and that's it.
@peteywentout @stan_boyd @rasputin177 I think you missed the point, Phil Fish said Japanese games are shit at a panel, so he is criticizing games that people spent their time working on, and then he cries when people criticize his. How can he expect people to respect him when he doesn't give respect back.
