I gave myself a serious kick up the backside.
Was tired of feeling awful. Tired of feeling horrible. Was tired of being tired of everything really.
Had a small history of self harm. Ended up in hospital one night, was given anti-depressant meds which I found gave me the motivation I needed to change things I wasn't happy about. Definitely better than what I was now but still a way to go, and this is three years on. So you can't really expect any "quick fix"
The thing is, different methods work for different people. It can be a long process but you need to find that will to try out different methods and find what works best for you and not be discouraged if a particular method isn't working. Could be one thing that helps. Could be a combination of things. But you HAVE to want to try. Don't do what I did and just put up with it for so long. It's not right that you feel like that for a lengthy amount of time that intensely.
Of course everyone can feel sad, lonely, worthless etc. We're human, that's natural. That's just what happens. But I know depression isn't just about feeling "sad".
Please. Go see someone about it. If you have supportive people around you that's great. But i'd go see a your doctor too. If you don't feel you can go to your doctor just yet there's this site I used to visit. http://www.horsesmouth.co.uk/index.publisha
There are always support groups online but I found this one good. It's basically a community of people that offer support and advice of ANYTHING you can think of. People that have first hand experience, people just offering support. Some people find it better to talk to people they don't know so you can always give it a try.
Essay over :P All the best.
