Absolutely was mainly just referring to his suggestion which IMO is not worth that price when something way better is only $30 more.

@PredatorRules Sure it is the same price if you wait 2 months for a $20 MIR. MIR is a joke and IMO should not factor in to a purchase

$220 for a 660. Man GPU market is bad right now, IMO the smart idea would be to save $30 more and get a GTX 760.

As said above though, we need to know what your PSU is and it appears low end with GPU that would come with some crap dell or something. If it is some prebuilt computer you bought at the store and just want to run games just get a GTX 750ti

I had both a HD 7950 and HD 6850 in the past and they were both great cards, and I planned to get a R9 290 or 280X but the price hike made them both $100 more at the time (probably even worse now). So I am a happy owner of an Asus GTX 760 that I got for $195, until I have a 1440p monitor and Maxwell comes out. As long as these prices are high I dont see AMD competing in the gaming market.

I finally checked out some footage, but I am not very impressed. The visuals were good however alot of things looked low res such as bricks and especially the leaves I saw (might be early footage so maybe improved), and seems extremely linear. Was this supposed to have RPG elements, but it looks as much like an RPG as much as ME2? I hope it turns out great but as I said the footage did not impress me.

The game seemed to be running bad at first so I tested it in the training mode (turns out the lobby was just extremely laggy for me), and for some reason even with vsync off fraps was saying 60 fps (the game is almost unbearable if I turn it off) and it was the same with both double and triple buffer. It is very easy to run considering I can run it maxed out with 16x Q CSAA and triple buffer on a GTX 760, which considering the graphics that is not really shocking.

The game was a blast after I quit having server issues for like 20 minutes. It was fast paced and other than shooting mechanics that feel pulled from COD it feels quite fresh. Sadly though for some reason the game cant find any servers, hope it is fixed soon.

Get a 24in 144hz Asus (250ish)or 27in Asus 1440p ($550). Maybe the Dell 27in 1440p monitor around $600. 27in is to big for 1080p IMO 24in the highest you should go for that res.

Remember though 1440p is demanding and you will want a decent GPU take advantage of it and same goes for 120 fps. But odds are if you get a 27in 1080p monitor you will want high AA.

IMO if you can afford a 1440p and have the GPU for it and are not a seriously competitve shooter gamer. I see know reason to not get one

Windows 8 has Windows Defender and earlier WIndows have Windows Security Essentials, they both work fine (same thing I think) and I never had a virus. The best thing they are FREE

I downloaded this extremly fast it was done in like 5 minutes. I played it on GTX 760 and i5 with solid 60 fps at 1080p (max) and it felt extremely smooth and the visuals were not bad either. The options were simplistic but I thought it still looked great, than again I though MGR Rising look pretty good.

As for my impressions as I said it felt smooth and feels alot like GoW. I have not played the first though I hear it does as well with a similar fixed camera. The game heavily relies on evading (a symbol above the enemy indicates whether it is not blockable) and defending/counterattacking. In the demo there are 3 weapons, flaming fists that break defenses, which is kind of cool when using it against enemis with shields because the shield gets hot and then breaks apart and a sword that steals life from enemies each hit (it is the only way I think you can get HP back other than the quick special when enemy is critical and you suck there blood). There was a default weapon but I did not use it because the fists plowed right through enemies. The controls were good on my controller, but I am not sure about kb/m. Also a nice addition was QTEs can be turned off.

It did not feel insanely original. but I dont mind alot of games are like that and it was fun which is kind of important. I am all for a GoW like game if done correctly, though I am not really sure if this demo means it is. The demo was extremely short with mostly climbing, and I dont know much about the game as a whole, so I dont really think it is deciding factor really on whether to get the game on not. If the game offers more gameplay variety with maybe weapon upgrades, more abilities it should not be to bad.

I must ask how are you getting ripped off, usually games are $60 which is more than 30 pounds. Strangely alot of big games are $50 (30 pounds) on PC this year such as Thief and Dark Souls 2 as well. UK has higher priced games alot, where you normally do get ripped off but when a game is $50-60 and is equivalent in UK I do not see how it is a ripoff. For example Tales of Symphonia Chronicles is 40 pounds while in US it is only $40. That is a ripoff as well as Xbone and PS4 games being around 50 pounds

If you can spend $230 you would be better off saving for a GTX 760 or buying a used one. I bought my Asus GTX 760 open box for $195 and I can still use the warranty. You can even find deals around $230-240

I was thinking why not R9 270 which should be better than the GTX 660. Then I checked and well the R9 270 is $230 and the R9 270X is $300! AMD is starting to not compete at and the only options are Nvidia, like come on these things MSRP is $180 and $200
