For the RAM, have a dual channel 2 x 4GB set instead of a single 8 GB. For the GPU get a 760 with 2 GB for cheaper or a 770 with 2 GB for around the same price. It really doesn't make sense to get that extra VRAM when 1080p monitors won't use it and you should get a R9 290 or a 780 at the minimum if you plan to play on a 1440p monitor instead anyway. The rest looks fine to me.

This,though why get such a pricey wifi adapter. I am very ignorant when it comes to these things but I know people who have cheap $20-ish dollar ones and are quite happy with them (some even use wifi dongles). I use one that came with my Asus mobo and it works perfectly fine. I dont know your situation but that sounds like some cash to put towards a GPU. If you use consoles with wifi with no problems why spend $100 on an adapter

Thanks for the comment. Yeah, I've never really had serious connectivity problems and I don't plan on this thing ever leaving my living room, so you're probably right about getting something more sensible.

I would maybe recommend putting that cash towards a GTX 770 2GB unless you would prefer to put it towards something else.

I recommended Gigabyte Windforce, EVGA w/ ACX Cooler, and Asus DirectCU II probably go with one with best price. If you want I can help you find a cheap and good wifi adapter around $20 dollars

that is not really a bargain it is basically regular priced. They are not bad parts though and that Gigabyte HD 7850 is getting hard to find and at a price of $150 that is a pretty good option. What is your budget for the build?

Those parts are usually found around these prices on Amazon and Newegg

CPU= $220-230

GPU=$140-160 (GB HD 7850 and most 7850s are hard to find new however this would be a solid better choice instead http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-DL-DVI-I-SL-DVI-D-PCI-Express-100354OC-2L/dp/B00A2J4ROE)

MoBo=$130

As I said give a budget and me and others will try to set you up with the best bang for the buck

DS4 tool + bluetooth = happy TV gaming.

Only game that "supports" sony controllers is Final Fantasy 14, as it has an option to select the DS controller scheme, IE: square, circle, triangle, X

I highly doubt it supports the controller, it just has onscreen button icons change because the devs probably new many people do use PS3 controllers which are emulated as 360 controllers. If it actually can use the PS3 controller without this I am surprised

I stated I used the DS4, Not DS3. Also, supported, was used in quotation marks with an direct explanation elaborating the context of said quotes.

Now that I read over that again I see what you were saying

IMO a good rig for gaming is

CPU: Intel i5 (preferably 2500k, 3570K, 4670k*best but maybe more pricey and I would prefer putting a potential $50 towards something else*) or FX-8350. These CPUs usually range between $180-250.

Motherboard: 2500k and 3570k go with z77 preferably, and 4670k goes with z87, and FX 8350 goes with 990FX (best) or 990X preferably. Decent boards with these chipset range between $100-150, and always purchase one with connectors and features you require or want such as number of SATA, USB 2.0, 3.0 (usually should get the number your cases front I/O has) ports and if you want crossfire/sli support

RAM: 8GB is enough for anything from my experience because I have 4GB and only one game has ever froze up and that was BF4. This usually around $60-80, though there are loads of options so there are bound to be some on sale

GPU: I would get nothing less than GTX 760 or HD 7950/R9 280X(AMD is overpriced right now) or GTX 770 if you got the cash because it is worth it. GTX 760 ranges from $240-260 and GTX 770 ranges from $310-330 (GTX 770 2GB). As for brand I recommend Gigabyte Windforce, Asus, or EVGA with ACX cooler

Case: Comes down to preference and I would recommend spending around $100, though I would maybe look at reviews.

PSU: Get a quality PSU that is around probably 600W and has good critic reviews. Cant go wrong with Corsair or Seasonic IMO.

HDD: Probably go Seagate Barracuda or Western Digital Blue around 1TB, and maybe in the future consider saving for an SSD.

The CPUs are overclockable and when you want more performance from them you can get a better cooler (CM 212 EVO is usually around $30 ). All this should come out around $800-900 (w/ GTX 760 at least) if you get deals, but Windows is usually $100. If you are still deciding on parts and am comfused with what I wrote, I do not mind making a product list. Dont want to waste my time if you are already content on parts you have picked

AC4 has loads of content and side missions, while MGR has very high replayability if you are into unlockable costumes and weapons or like to challenges. AC4 was very good and seemed much better than AC3, but MGR is a great action game that is very fun and other than gameplay feels like an MGS game thats short. They are very different games, and it comes down to what you prefer; content-rich one playthrough (possibly two) or continous playthroughs to master the combat and unlock everything
