@charizard1605: My girlfriend's been complaining that the 3DS has a terrible lack of rpgs compared to the DS.

"Imagine how easy it is now to release a console for 500$ that will almost double the power of the ps4."

Please do tell from your experience in R&D. Ultimately it doesn't matter how powerful it is, Nintendo has had awful third party support since the SNES, what indication is there that's gonna change?

Power has been the driving force for console sales since forever.

The wii u has hardly any third party support because the system is not strong enough. The cpu in there is weaker than the x360.

Just look at hardware prices and you will know how easy it is to build a 500$ console that's almost double the power of the ps4.

the Wii U has almost no support from Nintendo themselves!!!

Reading these contradictory comments, one about how third party support on 3ds is lacking, another on how 3ds dominates vita, and yet another that says vita has disproportionate amount of 3rd party games compared to sales and near abandonment by sony, and I just feel like I'm in the freaking twilight zone. Nintendo clearly does not know what their doing these days. They start their e3 with a puppet show and proceed to screw around with what made Star Fox so great, then show a bunch of party and multiplayer games and talk about Amiibo that they don't make much of because they seem to be afraid of oversupply, and now we are hearing rumblings of what may be the end of the Wii U already. I"m in the gaming twilight zone!

I'm a big Dynasty Warriors fan myself. Speaking of beat 'em ups, have a look at this.

Most people that buy gaming PCs upgrade their every few years to meet a performance standard that consoles didn't have to begin with. This is especially true with this generation, as the systems weren't exactly mind-blowing even before release. In general, PC gamers would not tolerate the performance issues that come with many console games - despite the fact the publishers know how the game is going to run before release.

Also, if you have a "gaming PC" you don't have to buy a separate PC.

That's true. My gaming rig is going on seven years old now lol, and when tax time comes around next year, I'll be building a brand new rig, but the games that it can play have new content constantly being created. Skyrim anybody? The Doctor and his TARDIS in Skyrim. Need I say more? Also, my rig can play current games that aren't as demanding like KSP.

I can watch a blue ray movie, listen to any music from any source I like with any audio or video player I like. I can record video from my cable box on to my hard drive using the capture box and software I bought, and the browsing experience is infinitely better on PC than consoles. All of this is just plain better on PC.

They expected PC gamers to be okay with Console like Quality.

The PC Gamers have spoken.

And from the sound of it, they had a heck of a time getting it to run on consoles properly. So in light of that, it's really an even bigger slap in the face.

@mesome713: You seriously call all the third party niche games indie? Really, and to call that lineup of games you mentioned great??? WTF??? The only game you listed that seemed really great is Fatal Frame 5, but that is just one game, and it's not my kind of game at all. Granted they still have the new Yoshi's Woolly World and Zelda and Xenoblade Chronicles to come out, but it's a tiny handful of games. Nintendo couldn't even be bothered to produce a proper Super Mario title for their flagship system. I'm not saying SM3DW was a bad game, but it seemed more like a SM3DL port than a proper title like Galaxy or Sunshine.

You need to get your head out of the sand and take a hard look at Nintendo and how they really aren't interested in giving gamers what they actually want. If they did, we would be getting a Zelda game with the kind of graphics from that tech demo. Instead, they are giving us something altogether different. This is a company that does nothing but make broken promises when it comes to their consoles. Their handhelds are fine to the point that I believe they should just quit the console business altogether and just make games for their handhelds. Seems to work best for them.

Nintendo acts like gaming revolves around developers and their ‘visions’ and studios. Gaming actually revolves around games and gamers. The reason why the 2015 Nintendo World Championship was fun is because it revolved around GAMES and GAMERS. It did NOT revolve around developers. We did not have to watch a ‘developer’ talk about a game while surrounded by Yoshi dolls.

It’s not that Nintendo doesn’t understand this business. They do. They just don’t like it. They don’t like that they, their ‘developer visions’, do not guide or control the market. The Metroid: Other M vs Real Metroid is a perfect example of this. But you can see they want their franchises to go their way. This would make sense if their way actually sold copies. It doesn’t. They just blame the marketers and change their execution of the same wrong thing over and over again.

I seriously wonder if Metroid Prime Galactic Force (or whatever it is called) is a deliberate attempt to destroy the Metroid Prime IP. We know Sakamoto doesn’t like Metroid Prime and what it represents.

I don't really agree with this 100% but I agree with enough of it.

That being said, the worst part about all that, is that they act like it revolves only around THEIR developers rather than developers in the gaming community as a whole. Their systems are clearly designed to largely favor their own in house developers over 3rd parties and they give little to no support in helping 3rd parties develop games on their systems.

You are so right. It's like a person might as well say when you buy a Nintendo console, the only games available for it are from Nintendo because Nintendo really does not care about third parties like they claim to.

Nintendo is not like Sony, they support their platforms, sorry Vita, RIP.

I agree with you, but the third parties are really holding the Vita up right now, especially with the niche titles.
