There is no such thing as used software on the PC. That's how it's always been. Deal with it.
It's not greed, it's business. It's not anti-consumer at all. It eliminates a market that doesn't benifit the developers of software in ANY way at all.

actually that's a lie since many games can be sold on the used market. i recently sold both NWN2 and the Witcher on ebay used and the people who received them had no problems installing them. so i'm not sure wth you're talking about. another example is the copy of diablo 2 i was given a few years ago. same story, works fine. not to mention half priced books has tons of used old pc games that are drm free or just require you to have the disc like borderlands and dragon age:origins.

It won't need a 680 it won't be Nvidia anyway it will be AMD. Anyway Console GPU's are custom built to run far far more effieciant then PC GPU's. I full expect the Xbox 720 to lead in graphics for the first 2-3 years over PC just like the 360 did and then PC will catch up and take over. yeah, console GPUs turn a 550 ti into a 690 using only a few ounces of peasant juice.

480 is outdated do some of your games choke? Wait not many if any games that can even push a 690 or 7990 anyway. Well maybe that unoptimized piece of trash Metro 2033 A 480 is far from outdated... It'll run all modern games at high resolutions and max settings with playable frames. And no reasonable developer creates games designed around 690s and 7990s, which are $1000 ultra-high-end cards that are designed specifically for people with triple-monitor setups or 120hz monitors who want absolutely no performance problems. no game that i currently own pushes it very hard at all at 1080p maxed out. i don't currently own a single game that doesn't run at at least 30fps fully maxed out.

don't mind vela, he's just butthurt because he spent $5k on an idiotic set-up because he was going for "the quietest set-up money can buy" and he realized that he could get the same performance by spending less than $1k and now he's mad at the PC world instead of being mad at himself for having no common sense.
