1. No idea. 2. I guess Starcraft, I mean it is pretty much worshiped in Korea. 3. They'll both sell a ton. 4. Probably the same score. 5. Neither, not into Starcraft (strange for an Asian guy right?) and don't care much for Diablo 3.
#4 Posted by Danm_999 (13924 posts) -
My guess is Starcraft 2.

1.Which game will be the greatest? Diablo 3

2. Which game is more highly anticipated? Diablo 3

3.Which game will sell the most? Errr Starcraft 2

4.Which game will GameSpot award a better score? Tie 10/10

5.Which game will you be playing years from now? Diablo 3

I used to be hardcore RTS fan but RTS games take too much brain power I'd rather pace myself while playing a game.

I think diablo 3 since starcraft 2 is cut up into 3 pieces.

#9 Posted by nchan (1059 posts) -
I don't care which one is better. Just come out already.

That doesn't make the game worse, though. :|

Diablo for everything but 2 and 3.

1. D3 (at least for me) 2. SC2 3. SC2 4. SC2 5. Both

I think Blizzard don't really care all that much about these 2 games anymore, they can't generate nearly the money the WOW generated, I bet they're focusing on the New MMO now.

1.StarCraft 2

2.StarCraft 2 with all 3 parts

3, StarCraft 2 if you count all 3 parts

4. Hard to say

5. I don't really want to play StarCraft 2, I will be playing Diablo 3, but I'm not sure if I'll play it for years to come.

You do realise that they have separate devs teams for each genre type right? The mmo team does not work with the RTS team.

I prefer RPGs, so Diablo III. But I want both.

Diablo III for me; not all too fond of RTS games and I loved Diablo II thoroughly.

:? So just because World of Warcraft is Blizzard's most successful game, these games are not important anymore?

Probably nether

I might go aboard Blizzards SC2 "lol hype train" even though I totally got F'ed over since all I want to play as is the Protos.

This is a tuff one for me. I have never played a RTS in my life, but lately I have become pretty interested in buying my first one ever. I have watched plenty of gameplay footage of Starcraft 2 on Gametrailers and it looks really freakin awesome and I can't wait until it releases so I can buy it. With that said, I own Diablo and Diablo 2 and loved Diablo 2 alot and am just as pumped for Diablo 3. I am really thinking you picked two games that I can't decide between. I will be picking both of them up. I guess if I am forced to decide, I have to go with D3, but I wouldn't be sure after making that choice if I had made the right choice or not.

3. No idea.

4. I think Diablo III

5. Diablo III.

Not gonna bother with your questions, but I am looking forward to Diablo III much more than Starcraft II.

I'm going with Diablo III. After Warcraft III, my faith in Blizzard's ability to make a truly spectacular RTS is somewhat diminished... Whereas they've never bungled a Diablo game.

Maybe you've never played Diablo II.

I've played it as recently as two weeks ago, and I still have my limited to 10,000 collector's edition box from when I got it on launch day. I also have a screenshot of my Paladin being listed as one of the top 10 paladins on the USWest server from years ago. What point are you trying to get at?

That Diablo II is a relatively overrated and boring game that no one cares about.

That Diablo II is a relatively overrated and boring game that no one cares about.Deathlessness
A game that is roughly 10 years old that has a larger active online community than a vast majority of the games released six months ago is overrated, boring, and no-one cares about? May not be your cup of tea, but there are very few games out there that have proven to have a fraction of the longevity of interest that Diablo II has... And I doubt that's because no-one really likes it.

Diablo II? A large active online community? And Diablo II was released in 2000. So it's not 10 years old.

I said "Roughly ten years old"... It's 9 years old - so sue me. Yes, Diablo II has a large active online community. Last time I signed on there were thousands of gamers on USwest alone.

I wouldn't argue with him. I'm pretty sure he's the one who thinks that MW2 will outsell Starcraft 2's lifetime sales in a month.

Eh, fair enough. My contribution to this thread is... I'm more interested in Diablo III than Starcraft II. I'll just leave 'er at that and call it a day.

I said in several months. The fifth Call of Duty outsold StarCraft's lifetime sales in 6 months. Modern Warfare 2 will be more successful. So you can argue with me. Nothing wrong.

Yeah, but it doesn't have a large active online community. :)

Ok, I just signed on. Right now on battle.net, non-peak hours, there are 31,000 Diablo II users playing 21,000 games of Diablo II out of 131,000 people on BNET playing a total of 29,000 games. Exactly what is your definition of "large active online community"???

Edit: And just to put this into context for you, I went to Bungie.net and looked up Halo 3's online stats... There have been a total of 158,003 active Halo 3 players on Live today, total. Diablo II has 1/5 people playing it at this very moment - not a daily tally, right now. Not bad for a game that's about 7 years Halo 3's senior.

Diablo III. I loved Diablo II with a passion, and as soon as I get my computer back to feeling it's oats, I'm going to love Diablo III.

There's no way Diablo 3 will be bigger than Starcraft 2 unless South Korea disappears from the planet....

[QUOTE="HoldThePhone"]And you know System Wars is a terrible place to talk to real gamers when people think Diablo 3 is bigger than Starcraft 2. gg people although I doubt you know what "gg" means

Not one of those questions is "Which game will be bigger?"... The question concerning the greatest - greatness isn't solely defined by public interest. The question concerning which one is more anticipated - ambiguous, since it doesn't specify by who, where, etc, so one could take it as meaning which one do you anticipate more. Methinks you're evidence that "real gamers" are largely probably at a point in their lives where they haven't quite honed their reading comprehension skills yet, but they have certainly honed their egos...Care to make another pass at trying to convince us that knowing what "gg" is an acronym for is something to be proud of, or that you actually took the time to read and think about the questions asked in the OP before you came in talking down to the people who did?
