I know how this will probably come off but I'll go for it anyway. "Lucky enough to have a beefy PC" is an attitude that is ruining this world with a new massive entitled generation. There is nothing lucky about it. I have been lucky in my life. I was born a male in America in the latter part of the 20th century. I guess you have to admit that as being "lucky." Beyond this, every single thing I have is because I work for it. I am not lucky to have a running vehicle. I am not lucky to have a house. I am not lucky to have a cool PC (one I built myself by the way). If I was lucky then I sure as hell wouldn't have to work as hard. Rant over. By the way, the game looks pretty awesome.
So eat Ramen and a can a tuna once a month instead of Papa Johns, and not go see Super Awesome Action Movie the day it comes out. Ok, I can make that sacrifice for a good MMO. The subscription price is really irrelevant for the amount of time involved. 50 cents a day is really nothing. Skip the Starbucks or the cigs and lottery ticket when you fill up. People that complain about cost are either a: a child, or b: unemployed, or c: not going to buy it anyway and searching for an acceptable justification to make public rather than the internal one. That said, I played the beta and was not really that impressed, and probably will not get it. What do I know though, I still enjoy the bemoaned SWTOR.
@Gunmaster51 @mcrawf21 But that is not how she explained it. I am fine with the score, and I tend to agree with her scores overall. I simply don't ever get her logic behind them. Misogyny in GTA... The old adage if it ain't broke don't fix it holds true here. Not mucking with an awesome system is not the same as not being innovative. Her points about the open world, flat voice acting, and boring detective mode are all valid. Not changing an arguably perfect combat system in favor of "innovation" not.
Everything is the same as the last 2, which were fantastic, therefore this game is bad. Come on now, I call shenanigans. Wow, this chocolate cake was extremely delicious, but since it tasted like the last extremely delicious chocolate cake I had, I give it a six.
@ZombieGuyGeorge @mcrawf21 I've played many hunting games. First was probably Oregon Trail =). I also fill a deer tag every year and put in for most everything else with various success in real life.
I have hunted all my life and I was in the military for six years. I have never used my mad fps skillz irl. EST 2000 though is a great training tool. Basically it is a real m-16 hooked up to an air compressor using lasers on projected targets.
The only thing that would make this game more realistic is sitting in your chu for 7 hours waiting for a mission, and driving in a convoy where nothing at all happens.
The argument that it is GTA and therefore acceptable is a very valid one. The entire tone of the franchise is represented, with improvements in realism, by this newest addition. This would be like saying that GTA is so visually stunning and the character development is so great however the wanton larceny of automobiles makes me question my purchase. You would never make an argument against misogyny in a new Duke Nukem game, now would you? I do believe 9/10 is a very fair score though.
