The Gun Show - Battlefield 4 Briefing
Come prepare yourself for Battlefield 4 as we drop knowledge, offer tips, and show some gameplay highlights in this Gun Show.
Best use of smoke I've had is on noshahr canals tdm, yes that map its the only one played nowadays on PC, is the M1014 and M320 with smoke rounds. I constantly get in close with the smoke and get a couple double and triples with it cause no one is watching the smoke, heck one time I dropped the smoke and ran straight up to a guy and got a knife takedown cause he wasn't paying attention. Totally hilarious!
The XM-25 should be an OHK? Im guessing the grenade rounds act just like the near useless rocket rounds that the engineer class has in BF3, you either need to damage the guy first or get a direct hit to kill.
I'm sorry, what the F?
Guns that do super super ultra range and kill through walls in 1-2 hits? :| Hello COD-XL
So, they are turning to Bad Company 2. Recon have C4 and those BC2 motion sensor "balls". What about support class? What will replace C4? It is kinda irreplaceable and it was one of the best thing within that class. O yeah, 40X scopes, god help us... like we don't have enough "campers" now.
Oh no! Chris Watters made an under the table deal with the Tobacco Companies!
He talks about a ´cause´ that is ´near and dear to his heart... smoke!´. (No it isn´t dear to your heart!)
´Some say, it doesn´t kill anyone´.
´But smoke is a powerful ally on the road to victory! Smoke can keep you safe´
´Remember the smoke... REMEMBER the smoke!´
Some powerful words there, I´ve lit up 4 cigs just writing this text, hihi!
Oh and indeed, I couldn´t care less about GTA. Dumb game in my opinion. But the marketing feels like a tidal wave.
GTA V is out, has a ton of hype behind it and is being enjoyed by many - I know and accept that, but can we please not mention it in EVERY single sodding video?! Some of us aren't interested and want to hear news about other games.
Anyway excellent little pre-beta-release preview show, can't wait for the full one :)
Oh and I shall equip smoke :D
I still wish Battlefield 4 had a dinosaurs-for-vehicles mode. It could be like conservationists vs Jurassic Park's InGen gone crazy.
@Aria1368 Me neither, just a few more days!
@komil That was before shotties got nerfed. Before, you could even kill the sun with them.
See link below:
@UKFX Just to clarify, the XM25 goes over the top or along the side of a wall before bursting and raining shrapnel on the other side. It doesn't actually break through barriers. Think 320 that explodes on demand.
@UKFX If the walls are thin or you happen to use a large caliber rifle then that is realistic.
Although with cod it's kinda ridiculous sometimes. i saw people shoot through concrete walls with a not so big caliber light machine gun and it was as if the wall was not even there.
@Akariko Oh noooooo, how could I be so unaware of the horrible subtext! Don't smoke, folks!
@realguitarhero5 Go to a GTA video if you wana talk about GTA. Noone cares about you, it's all about real life guitarists.
@pohman I've been spending more time doing video stuff, which leaves less time for reviewing, unfortunately. I'll still be doing some reviews this fall, though!
@m9tafa It is and you too can be apart of it if you preordered the DigiDelux of BF4, a Premium of BF3, some fancier version of MoH: WF, or just wait a week or two and they'll just let you in. Either way, it's gonna be fun! :P
@amdreallyfast That would be INCREDIBLE.
@amdreallyfast This is an important distinction.
@halo-freak You can't bring realism into it if you spawn out of thin air, bullets are affected by gravity but not wind direction and the Coriolis effect, etc etc etc.
Battlefield isn't about realism, but it's getting more and more silly. Do you honestly think people are going to run around with rifles or instead have silly rooms with DSMarksmen everywhere and stupid magic air guns that kill people over ridiculous range.
What happened to just guns? Good map design, unlocks etc? Guns were fine, Support having a rifle that can kill people through walls without actually aiming at the person and just "generally hitting that area" is going to cause a lot of complaints when it is unlocked, just keep an eye on the forums, I guarantee it.
@kwanzudood Exactly. The air burst round is modeled after something our military ACTUALLY USES. It's not some fantasy weapon that shoots through walls. And since Support doesn't have C4 anymore... I think it's a good addition to that class.
@UKFX @MigzBR @halo-freak
If you're talking about air-burst rounds, the OICW grenade launcher (real life proto-type weapon) was supposed to have air-bursting grenades that have a fuze or timer on them so they explode after a predetermined time as opposed to exploding on impact. This allows the round to penetrate a wall and explode inside the room, which would kill the occupants but cause less damage to the structure. I don't see how this is "magic" to you. If it actually does this in the game with causing less damage to the structure, I can see why they wanted to include this kind of weapon with the destructibility of Frostbite 3. Just play and adapt.
@MigzBR @UKFX @halo-freak Not sure who your reply was directed at, but what I'm saying is that instead of just standard Gun vs Guns and Armour vs Armour etc, we now have a gun in the game that can shoot through walls via some magic air-burst thing, without actually aiming at the person.
Notice in the video the 2-3 shots a guy does on a building, which kills the soldier through the wall without blowing the wall through?
I don't care about being killed in shooters, even by GLs, but you can't take cover from anything if there is a gun that can almost one shot you without breaking down the cover, without having to be aimed directly on you but more or less aimed in the general direction. If people are going to defend that then they are either super fanboys or really naive to think that it isn't going to cause a wave of issues and complaints. An I wanted BF to remain BF-like, and whilst I know it isn't going to ever return to how BF1942 and BF2 were, but I don't want it eventually deteriorating into how COD did. More of a concern, but with that gun it seems like it's a crawl into that direction.
The worst part though still, by far, is Origin.
@UKFX @halo-freak this isn't CoD if you noticed. It's a completely different games so they can opt out to do whatever they want. Really excited about the scopes and being able to zero in guns. This will only force players in building up their skills as far as taking cover goes. But yeah don't hate on BF because COD doesn't have big enough maps to justify having powerful scopes and being able to change the range on your scope. And BF has never being about just guns it's about warfare get your facts right.
