@dylandr: lol I'm close to beating a few already, like Dragon Age: Inquisition, Yakuza 4, Transistor, and Final Fantasy X (again). Plus, Bloodborne comes out this month so there's another game I aim to beat soon.
Someone with a great and genuine personality, believable struggles, and can be related to or sympathized with in some way or another. I enjoy games more when I'm playing as a character I could sit down with and have a great conversation. It's that kind of immersion that helps me enjoy the gameplay more, no matter how much I may like or dislike the mechanics of a said game.
If fetch quests had a better reason for being there as opposed to just collecting something, either through narrative or level progression, then they wouldn't be so annoying. People need to feel like they're collecting something important, not just getting because it's basically a cool item to get that ultimately proves inconsequential to the game after a while.
The biggest thing games taught me was how to understand emotions in others. Having Asperger's doesn't do me a lot of favors in the social department and I'm always grateful I was able to learn how to read others a little.
Games also taught me patience, teamwork, and enhanced my problem solving skills. They also showed me how to handle consequences since I'm not someone who reloads a save if something goes wrong. I live with the choice, learn from it, and move on.
