@superklyph: ...possibly the encryption type used on that wi-fi network (as an IT admin, that's the only thing that jumps out at me based on your description).
@cfscorpio: While this is true today, I hope this changes in the future. Think about it - wouldn't an AAA shooter running at 720p in portable mode be awesome? Vita games looked great at only 960*544.
I hope developers recognize the potential of the Nintendo Switch and release games for it.
@endersdragon: As a handheld, the Nintendo Switch blows everything out of the water (except for the Nvidia K1 gaming tablet, that it is based on). I am looking forward to some AAA shooters & sports games for Switch.
This is from someone who owns multiple portable/handheld consoles & a gaming laptop.
@endersdragon: I was one of the few who snapped up a launch edition PS3 *because* it had Blu-ray functionality built in. The PS3 launch edition console is still going strong, and is still being used for Blu-ray playback (mostly) and gaming.
@videogameninja: Mario Odyssey is confirmed for "Holidays 2017", which I assume to be late November/early December: http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/super-mario-odyssey-switch
@nabinator: The appeal is *the possibility of* 720p portable gaming on the go. I am looking forward to NBA 2K and other AAA titles (hopefully CoD, NHL, WWE 2K, etc.
@e3man01: Sorry to hear that they botched your support case, I see how that would sour someone on Sony. Did you escalate the issue to get an explanation as to why you were lied to on call 1?
I had a similar experince dealing with BestBuy - I purchased a 70 inch Sharp 1080p set for my father (who is retiring soon) and it croaked about 2 years after I purchased it. Had an extended warranty, but BestBuy dragged their feet for 6 weeks in servicing and replacing the set.
After escalating with BB management, I was given a formal apology and an upgrade to a Vizio 4K TV! No 3D, but escalating my issue got me something for my time and frustration.
