Mat, Reggie is on record as being a MASSIVE fan of Metroid.
He absolutely knows that Metroid was not released for Wii U, and I am sure he wants Metroid on Nintendo Switch - probably more than all of us put together...
@Xylymphydyte: Agreed. As I said, would prefer a new dock...but would accept a free screen protector or felt.
I have been bitten by other companies as well - on my fifth XBOX 360 (RROD and eating discs) and second PSP (got a launch unit that developed mushy/stuck circle button). In those cases, Microsoft and Sony stood behind their products and offered replacement consoles (till I got one that worked) and warranty service.
@Xylymphydyte: True, but the cost of shipping plastic docks might be prohibitive. A piece of felt or plastic screen protector is very light (comparatively speaking) and could be sent in an envelope (not a box).
That said, I would prefer a new dock (dock swap at large retailers like BestBuy would be acceptable).
@Xylymphydyte: Yes, definitely a design flaw. I would like to see Nintendo acknowledge the issue and offer a free screen protector or felt pieces for anyone who complains. This is not without precedent: (1) Mario Party 64 "Mario thumb" - Nintendo mailed out free red "Mario" gloves (max 4 per household) to anyone who complained about sore/injured thumbs, (2) Nintendo shipped free Wii remote jackets (max 4 per household) shortly after Wii was released (order from nintendo.com).
Doing this would be good PR (we acknowledge the issue, sorry, here is something that will help prevent damage) and shows customers they care. What do you guys think?

@Xylymphydyte: True, but would have liked to see a piece of felt glued to the inside of the dock. What would that have cost - a few cents?
Don't get me wrong - love the Nintendo Switch, but they know kids will just slap the console into the dock HARD without thinking about the possibility of a scratched screen.
Hello all, check out this article from TechnoBuffalo: "How to download Japanese games on your Nintendo Switch" - a tutorial video is included. Have fun! :)
@TheCobraKaiDojo: As of 3pm this afternoon, "The Source" had consoles available via www.thesource.ca. I was pleasantly surprised by this - stock issues didn't hit (for us in Toronto) till about 5pm.
