@MTMind2 Thanks for the info. This is where having high-capacity media can help - those ultra high-res textures chew a ton of space! But in the end - I suspect the disc swapping will be minimal - probably will be asked to swap discs after hitting a certain point in story mode. I look forward to Rage...and any forthcoming console games that use that engine. It's gonna look *sweet*.

@MTMind2 Very true, but keep in mind that the PS3 has 7 SPE (helper co-processors) that can do cool things, like stream high-res textures off Blu-Ray disc (rather than load them into the GPU for rendering and display onto the screen). Because of the high-bitrate access off the disc, this can help with getting textures to screen a bit faster, somewhat bypassing the GPU and freeing it up for other tasks. But, as you mentioned, the 360 has an edge - 48 graphical pieplines vs 24. Agree - it depends on how the devs utilize the console. I wonder if id Software's new 'texture streaming' tech will ever make it to consoles. I checked out the screen shots on id's new game "RAGE" and was very impressed...

I own all three current gen consoles, so please nobody accuse me of being a fanboy. The 360 is easier to develop for, which is why many multi-platform games look better on the 360. They were **designed** on the 360 and **ported** to the PS3. Admittedly, some ports (NBA 2K10) look TERRIBLE on the PS3 in standard-def (jagged edges on everything, blurry menus)...but great in HD. This happens very rarely, and I fault the devs on this, and not the console. You have to agree - both consoles provide some serious graphics and the differences in the games here are very, very minimal... Though I must say - if you have a PS3, do yourself a favour and pick up Uncharted 2 or GT5 Prologue...or MGS4...or...well the list goes on. XBOX? Try Forza, Gears 2.... And ENJOY your console. They both kick a$$.
