@TashunkoSapa: Desktops are the standard for businesses (staff who do not need mobility) and gamers serious about performance and overclocking. No gaming laptop will touch the performance of an over-clocked desktop PC with multiple video cards (or a well tuned single card).

@Barighm: True, but with the money saved you can invest in a high-end video card (or cards).

@isariamkia: Did you mean "...they push people to who own a *Wii U* to buy a switch too"? Wii U is a home console, and the marketing is pushing people to consider Switch a home console...even though it really isn't (primarily a portable system).

People who already own a 3DS (myself included) see this as a clear upgrade, no marketing needed.

@Andyf1ghter: Not true. The version of Fast Racing for Wii U ran at 640x720, and stretched the video to 1280x720. This resulted in noticeable video shimmer and combing artifacts...which are nowhere to be found on the Switch version. Textures are better (on Switch) and the game looks great.

As for the Wii...it can't do better than SD.

@Slammer612: Agreed, hopefully we see more games like this (RedOut is due soon). If anything like the PC version, it will be fun.

@davillain-: What makes you say that? The entire thing screams portable, especially considering that it's a tablet that can be docked/un-docked at will. A home console is exactly that - a console that is not portable and remains at home.

@nabinator: That's true, but the PS4 is a home console while the Nintendo Switch is a portable/handheld tablet (slightly upgraded Nvidia K1).

I know Nintendo markets it as a home console, but I disagree with that - the Switch is a portable that can be connected to your TV and played like a home console.

@nabinator: 2.5-5 hours depending on game, screen brightness, wi-fi status. But...can only think of 1 other device that provides a 6.2 inch screen with 720p games.

Phones can do 1080p/1440p (some can do 2160p!) but their games are "bite-sized" and not feature length, like Zelda. FYI: My phone (htc One m8) won't give me more than 3-4.5 hours of gaming at 1080p (Asphalt 8, Real Racing 3, NOVA 3, etc) before dying.

Edit: My gaming laptop gives me 3-3.5 hours on demanding games, and only if the wi-fi and Bluetooth are turned off.

@charltonblake1989: I love my Nintendo games too, but am very excited to see some current multi-plat games come out for the Switch. I own a PS4 and gaming PC & laptop...but want something I can take on the road (in my bag) that doesn't require a table to use...
