Besides im not talking about hosting a battlefield2 server. Im talking about hosting a regular server on games such as... crysis, bfme2, and eaw.

[QUOTE="mark30001"][QUOTE="JigglyWiggly_"]1 megabit of upload speed is not much; however the only rts i've played heavily was AOM and it didn't matter much if the host had a fast internet connection, because if one person slows down, everyone slows down. I'm not quite sure how it works in your game though. I am assuming you mean online lag, and not fps lag. JigglyWiggly_

What are you talking about? Don't most people have like 512kb or 200kb of upload speed? Alot of people say they have 512kb of upload with no lag. I dont know about the whole thing about how one person slows everyone down because I asked other people if they had lag and they would say no.

1 megabit is not a lot, what are you speaking about? 1/8= 125 KB/s The host has to upload the most data, why do you think dedicated servers have like 20 megabit upload speeds? Now this is the real quesiton, how is the game structured? Because it depends on different games, the host might not actually be doing much like how Age of Mythology does it. If one lags, you all lag... which brings me to my next point.A lot of rts games do not have dedicated servers, which is a shame. Thankfully I don't play any RTS games, cause I am a true warrior :)

Uhhh most isp's dont even allow above 1mb of upload speed...

I know ram speed does'nt offer that much performance compared to a videocard, but is my single 2 gb DDR2 667 chip to weak and slow for gaming? Would it be better to have 2 chips at 1 gig each to equal 2 gb, instead of having a single chip at 2 gb? And should I get ddr2 1066mhz?
