I agree with on many of the things that you point out. At age 27, some of my early gaming experiences and the progression of the industry seemed magical. That said, I think commercialism has taken a toll on the industry in the last 10 years or so. RPGs and Action Adventure games having tacked on multi player components, formula driven games releasing 1 or 2 iterations per year, RTS genre having less and less attention as it seem to generate less income are few things I have noticed. I guess its all part of a maturing industry than anything else.

@tom2750 What you are saying, or rather what I comprehend from what you are saying is sexist. I'm not really going explain to you why. Comeback when you learn what punctuation marks are for and I'll try to elaborate on the fact that you sound like caveman. 'Me like meat and big boobs!' ... Stay classy Fred Flinstone.

I will not be buying a console that was planned to be a spying tool for corporate interests. A paint job and confetti just wouldn't have cut it if Trojan horse trick was found out. For shame Microsoft.

Best game that I have played so far and I don't say that lightly. That honor went to KOTOR for almost a decade.

Not the first time I disagree with Shea's reviews. To me, he is the opposite of a person who should be reviewing games. His video reviews are monotonous. He seems extremely judgmental according to personal preferences. I remember him ripping 'The Forgotten Sands' Wii version to shreds without setting it up properly. As I can remember, his review for Dust: An Elysian Tail' was again lazy and misses the point.

Look, I enjoy divergent opinions. But a divergent opinion is something that has to be brought to light articulately so that it convinces people to think differently. Shea seems incapable of that. He comes across as a person who disagrees for the sake of disagreeing and does so by nitpicking. Zero punctuation might be a sarcastic sod but at least he explains himself thoroughly and stacks his personal preferences against his opinions so people which is which.

I feel that Gamespot is just happy for the controversial buzz that Shea creates.

@eva02langley @Jasurim What I learned from Heavy Rain and Indigo Prophecy is that Quantic Dream is more interested in 'Interactive Movies' than 'Games'. Look, I get it. To each his own. I'd say my problem with their games is lack of interactivity or gameplay ... But then, I had a quite a good time with Journey. Hmm ... I guess I will try this game too. But I have a feeling I won't be blown away.

IMO, The Last of Us is the pinnacle of storytelling and pretty damn good gameplay. Bioshock, Uncharted and Mass Effect gets honorable mentions. From the past, KOTOR was my go to title of good story + gameplay.

This is why COD games are expensive to make. Planting BS image spin stories all over the web can't be cheap.

COD was nothing before MW, which is a game that Activision didn't want because they thought it was too risky. So please f*** off with this corporate image spin BS.

@myungish It's mainly everyone who worked in the previous games asking for more money. Given the ridiculous amount of money these mediocre artistically bankrupt games are making, they should. After all they are burning away their creativity and time to make copy paste shooters.

@Alexrmf To each his own obviously. 'Cinematic Experience' is all I thought was better than KOTOR. If KOTOR was built with the same engine as ME, I think would have been a much better game.

One of the main things that I found lacking in ME1 was the environments. (Novaria ... Icy planet with all the missions indoors) There wasn't enough diversity. Story seemed a little too ... how should I put this ... it seemed to revolve around Shepard too much. KOTOR worlds seemed more organic.

I guess the nostalgia card is pretty valid. But I played KOTOR recently after getting it from steam. I have to say that I felt it really deserved next gen proper RPG reboot. (And yes, I'm pretending like the MMO never happened)

Again ... I loved the ME series. But I don't trust it anymore with EA involved. They have been very open about wanting online components in their new games. At the end of the day, if you have to have multiplayer and other online components, you end up making compromises in the story/RPG front.
