Can we get rid of the review scoring system already? It's so broken. Black Ops II does precious few new things and blotches a number of them and it gets 8.0. Far Cry 3 does all this and it gets 9.0 because of a few design quirks. Maybe the story isn't perfect but at least it tries to be original and lasts 35 flipping hours! This review system encourages rehashed games and punishes developers when they try to be original. Kevin's review is damn good and fair, but the scoring system implies Far Cry 3 is par with much inferior games that got 9.0.
Hitman was never fun when you went all guns blazing. The whole point was to always try and get the 'Silent Assassin' rating. That was where the replay value came into play. As soon as you finish a mission in a sloppy fashion, you realize all the cool things you could have done.
@Deadly_Nemesis "Mass Effect Movie, you are unworthy of these realms, you're unworthy of your title, you're unworthy... of the loved ones you have betrayed! I now take from you your power! In the name of your fans and movie lovers. I, Odin Allfather, cast you out! "
@megadeth1117 Yep. I bet Mass Effect will be made into a film somewhere in the distant future when a bunch of business men aren't trying to make sure they get the maximum out of this cash-in. Or alternatively a very generic action film will be made under heavy supervision so that it will tick all the big movie boxes but with zero heart. The former outcome beats latter ... who is with me?
@XIntoTheBlue You should give ME3 a go. It's pretty good. Any game that deal with player choices like ME will have a bunch of people going bananas at the ending.
@Snakepond2 Mc Shea lost my vote really early on but his Forgotten Sands review that got pulled was the last straw. Anyone that complains about a game camera without even checking the settings is just lazy.
As soon as I see Mc Shea's name in a review, I automatically hit Metacritic.
