For RTS games i remember when i played the original Empire Earth when i was younger, That game just soaked me in and it was my favorite for years, i loved that there was like 17 ages from stone to spacial. And recently i finished crysis 1 couple of months ago when i finaly got my gtx 460 and i didn't expect it to be great due to the "mixed" reviews and that it was just graphics but that wasn'st the case. The game and the levels completely blew me out. Started playing crysis 2 now, im just in the first levels which are ok, but i read it kicks in after so im looking forward the same experience i got from crysis 1

The 6850's are faster at stock speeds and draw abit less of power than 2 460's

I would get 2 460 because they run cooler, can overclocker higher and gives you phsyx options.

But if you really want Future proofing go with something like x2 6870 which will stomp the 2 mentioned

Gtx 460 overlock potentials are just unmatched.

I have an msi cyclone at 825/2000 and p2 x3 720 at 3.6 and i score 15300 p marks on the gpu with physx off. The avererage raden 6850 at stock scores 14100 and they list the gtx 460 with scores 12500. Ive seen people Overclocking their 460 to 900/2200 + getting rididicoulous scores, i know i can definievetly push mine more.

At first i was like dam, i should have waited 3 months to spend 210$ on the 6850. But i found out its practically the same perfomance with physx bonus at the same price. Now the 6870 is better since it gives a gtx 470 competition with better prices and Wattage perfomance

Mac can be extremely frustrating and annoying for life long windows users like most of us.

The market likes macs for 2 main reasons, its the "popular" thing to do and has a this selling conecpt of "beauty, easy and no virus crap" that haves the low knowledge computer market sold. The lower knowledge people is those who don't game, just listen music, browse twitters, facebook, etc and the occasional highschool/college work

Pretty much 80% of the people i know in college has a mac except for the 1 rare guy like me or the people that are studying computer science. I always try to get in a calm and explained discussion with the rest, and they simply refuse to admit that they got riped off, The argument i always get is " Yeah dude, but mac has no virus add has better video editing" ... Yeah right.

I remember a friend who brought a 3000$ macbook pro about 1.5 years ago that had a core 2 duo 3.0+ with a 8800gtx and 4gb ram. He was telling and showing around that no pc would ever beat hes mac unless of course they pay the price. He used the laptopt just to game orange box and World of Warcraft but that was not the case. I showed him my 600-700$ build with a radeon 4850 overlocked, phenom x3 720 @ 3.5, 4gb and as we contrasted games on my 22" vs hes 15-17" He just god mad hahaha and realized hes mistakes

At the end is all about what people wants to do with their money, they want macs.. ok got for them. But please listen and dont act like a wall vs the pc users who really know what they are recomending while being nice and explainative

You can estimate a of 15 to 25 % of savings from buying the pieces yourself than from a company in the mid-end hardware % range

600-1100$. On more expensive system you save even more

I can comfirm this

Usually before a boss fight / fight event where there is a conversation or roleplaying involved i prebuff and prepot my characters.. Yet with the berserker mode it shows as deactivate once the fighting starts and i have to manually activate it again

I do have a 4850 512 with an amd x3 720 @ 3.2ghz now

I play at 1680x1050 and while most of the games i threw in, played wonderfull i still decided to purchase a gtx 460 1gb. It will be arriving next week along with a new cpu cooler to push some juice on my processor for better clocks. The reasons i bhought a gtx 460 are:

-Due to how the currency works in my country, buying the gtx 460 and after i sell my 4850, it would mean that i had only spent 30-40$ on the gtx 460

-Considerably less heat. Right now my 4850 is extremely hot and affects everything around, on heavy games it peaks to 110C and sometimes i gotta blow an outside fan to help with the temp

-Better scaling, room for more perfomance compared to my 4850 and hopefully sli possibility in near future

-I want to max out some games for my resolution comfortably, crysis, Bad company 2, stalker cs, and some upcoming

I think it is worth it considering all those aspecs in mind
