@waqar245 @josh7845 Why not the side missions? Would you skip on the side missions in, for example, Fallout?
I played the PC version, though most of the bugs I mentioned were reported on the consoles as well. You have, more likely than not, downloaded a patch for it. The patch does not excuse a broken game being sold at retail though.
@theexperience13 I have to say, it does enough to become fresh again by changing up the core gameplay of focusing more on the sailing rather than the runny jumpy climby aspects. If you liked the sailing in AC3 but thought it was too unrefined, then this game more than makes up for it. The characters and setting I found to be more interesting than AC3 too. Instead of the hooded brick that was Connor and the boring setting that was the American Revolution, you're given a character you can empathise with and you're thrown into the golden age of piracy. Even the upgrades are actually worth it now since they directly effect the core gameplay.
The only negative things I can think of about the game are:
A) It may put people off if they prefer the original mechanics of Assassin's Creed
B) It has a few bugs here and there.
C) It can be difficult to manoeuvre Edward. Sometimes he jumps to where you want him to and most other times he'll over-shoot the jump and land on the guys you happened to be tailing, by accident.
D) The Animus story is still rather dumb and has no intention of ever getting resolved it seems.
@Halbermunken @josh7845 That's fair enough. Rushed is a better term to describe the game. I assume then it's the publisher WB who couldn't be arsed with it.
Batman occasionally spazzed out whenever I was gliding.
Enemies would randomly fly around the rooms.
Batman fell into an abyss of darkness when he opened certain doors too early.
One of the Riddler's towers was impossible to complete without exploiting another glitch in the game because Batman refused to climb through the vent.
The game crashed several times.
Solid is not the word I'd use to describe this game.
If the exact same mechanics of Arkham City weren't enough for you, Origins also copy pastes the side missions too. Remember when you had to destroy 6 containers of Titan formula for Bane? Well now they're called Black Mask's drugs. And there are 6 of them. And you dispose of them in exactly the same way. Then there's the 6 weapons shipments and while you use the disruptor this time around, the basic principle is still there.
The biggest disappointment though was the Riddler challenge. Instead of obtaining the opportunity to give the Riddler a knuckle sandwich for forcing you to go all over the fucking city to find his stupid datapacks, or even just getting more dialogue from him, you just find a Riddler trophy. That's it. After many hours of scouring the city looking for those twatting datapacks, you get nothing.
The whole game has "couldn't be arsed" written all over it.
How is it that the entire city appears to only be populated by corrupt police officers or thugs? I don't know because the game couldn't be arsed to explain to me.
@gamestopper0 @josh7845 To a certain extent it may help, I suppose. The best way to deal with that problem though, is aesthetics. If you have a brown and grey environment and all the enemies are wearing brown and grey attire, I imagine it would be rather difficult to see them anyway.
@gamestopper0 No, of course not. The bullshit part was them saying it makes you a better gamer. They're A) Overemphasising the importance of resolutions and B) Flat-out talking shit. Resolutions just make games look a bit nicer or worse. they in no way effect the overall quality of the gameplay.
1080p makes you a better gamer? Why do they feel the need to make up bullshit to make 1080p sound better? It already is better. They don't need to sell it.
