As a consumer, I like to hear that they are against annually released games. I want my gaming experience to be both quality and long lived. I want constant support and participation for that game for more than one year. When a game franchises comes out every year, the result of that action negatively effects the gamers experience in a couple of ways. First, it’s constantly shuffling the gamer base amongst various games; it puts pressure on the gamer to constantly buy the new game rather than continuing play on the older games, thus long term value is diminished. Secondly, its puts a lot of pressure for the developer’s to just put out another product repetitiously, rather than focusing on how they can push the game to new levels and experiment with new paradigms within the games. Experimentation and exploration take a back step to regurgitation, but this is just how I see it.

It’s also another reason I feel Bethesda is one of the few sitting on top of the gaming mountain.

This is how I just responded to Xbox

"To Team Xbox One,

As a consumer and being a person who has been playing on home consoles since the Atari 2600, it makes me very happy that you have changed course on some of your polices regarding the new and exciting Xbox One. The gripes I posed where a matter of what I saw as an attitude that was very dismissive of the traditional gaming experience, and especially of ownership itself. I understand that as technology changes, so will many other things change that we are accustom too. However, there are many things that should never change, unless the market and the consumer dictate it first, but the meaning and description of ownership and theft should never change.

You make a superior product that has been appreciated by many people; and you should be rewarded and thus profit over the; hard work, intellectual property, dedication, and talent your team displays in each of their products. That is why I am writing you this, to thank you as a consumer and as a fan. I am glad to see you took some advice from your fan base and applied it. It is a great example of the free market in action.

Fantastic!!!!!! I agree with everything you just wrote. That is it, and many don't even realize the lack of pure talent in popular music. The musician has been a very important part of human history. It was the local town crier or bards that kept alive many histories, stories and legends for many different cultures over the years. Those musicians told people of coming troubles and warned of past mistakes. Popular music today is largely sold to you and shoved down your throat by people that are not musicians. Many people that are called musicians do not write their own lyrics, nor play any instrument, nor can they even read bars of music. They are not musicians but entertainers, and the fact that people are entertained by such crap and filth is nauseating. I accept my musical taste is mine alone, but I will hold true to the idea that today’s music is declining in talent and importance.

NO kidding and their music sucks. IMO. I understand people like them, but the people that like them also liked Barny the purple dinosaur thing when they were children. Personal preference in music can be debated, but the argument can never be won. Being somewhat educated, I look at things such as musical ability, lyrics and the ability of an artist to reach out and capture the imagination of people outside of their social environment. I prefer musicians that play instruments and play them well. I like lyricist that say something profound or moving, and in today’s music those qualities are falling to the way side. Music today is about scandal, sex appeal, and nefarious acts of idiocy. We went from a nation of educated people to a people that are hardly educated and lack the ability to have deep complete thoughts. We are superficial and our music and arts depicts this sad turn of events. I am not saying all music today is like this, just the music that is considered main stream.

I hear you, but many more games will be released and Microsoft Studios produces a lot of fine games. I am not so worried about what’s coming out on day one, but more about the games that will be coming over the next few years, and honestly Microsoft rarely bring forth crappy games. There is nothing wrong with either system, and it always baffles me why people have to hate on people that play one or the other, we are all gamers after all, right?

You are right, it is not just here. Bad taste is universal.

Beyonce and Jay-Z are two great examples of how American taste in music and the arts is on the decline.

@HeroinSoap @gobluebuckeye

OK I misread what you wrote, so if a friend is on your friends list for more than 30 days, they can be given a copy of your game for life if you wish to do so. That’s great. I already have mine pre-ordered; part of the day one crowd and all this anti-Xbox talk is kind of funny, because I know I am going to get a great gaming experience and really isnt that what it’s really all about.
