There will be a whole bunch of games that are focused on multiplayer, which will be cool! It will mean more people in a game compared to 16-24 players that we have now. But hopefully there will be some absolutely amazing and beautiful single player games coming out as well, so even if there is multiplayer in them, because the next-gen can handle so much more, they'll be alot more content in single player too.
I just had to have a look at some screenshots for this new game he's making and it looks pretty dated and shit. Guess we'll see what the finished product is like... lol
I played about 3/4 games on multiplayer and felt that was enough lol. Like you said, this game is all about the single player and they're sacking it off for multiplayer. I haven't even met one person who plays the multiplayer either, it's just not what this game's about.
I think CD will start crying when they see they aren't getting many downloads for the DLC's lol.
I bought it for the PC and it looks amazing. At the moment there is a problem with the game crashing, which they are looking into now. Apart from that though, the gameplay's great, I'm enjoying the story as I love ancient/old God stories and being able to travel around the island and seeing beautiful enviroments is amazing. The controls feel nice, I've been using mouse and keyboard, but when I want to kick back on the sofa and chill, that's when the controller comes out to play, and they're both nice and fluid.
I've played pretty much all the Tomb Raiders and loved them, but this trying to balance certain styles of gameplay and it does it really well. I enjoy the action parts but exploring is where it's at! Hopefully they add more places to explore in the DLC's.
I know people are saying that they should have made the tombs larger, but I am sure that's what they'll be saving some of the DLC for, which I'm not complaining about. It would be nice to play them now, but at the same time it's nice how they are so it builds you up to maybe doing some ridiculously large tomb runs, (Hopefully! lol)
I'm looking forward to finishing this game and seeing what the have to offer DLC wise.
I played FFXI for about 6/7 years and loved every minute of it!
It was nice to chill out with friends, go on quests, get on with some crafting, HNMLS's were alot of fun too. Maybe you'd have to wait a while sometimes to get the gear you want, but being able to do them kinds of runs was what made it exciting!
I never played FFXIV as my PC couldn't handle it back then, but I've bought a new gaming PC recently and definitely ready to give this bad boy a try! lol
Everything I've read and watched for ARR has really got me in the MMO mood again! I play Tera on and off at the minute, which is pretty decent, but it doesn't give me the same feeling of fun and adventure that FFXI did. I would love to get back into FFXI but I'm too far behind now and it will take a very long time to get better equipped with the Abyssea gear.
FFXIV:ARR is the closest I'll get to that sence of adventure again now and I'm ready with open arms!
Where the story left off in FFXIV, I can see it carrying on well with this, the amount of other things you can do as well looks and sounds great, I really can't wait!
I'm praying I get invited for the Beta, as I booked next week off work a while back and the Beta happened to land bang on that week, so I'll be gutted if I don't get an invite now! haha
Fingers crossed any ways!
If I get an invite I hope to see you guys on there!
I hope a lot of the elements from FFXI are included in A Realm Reborn. XI had me hooked for years, so blending parts from that into the new game and system will be amazing! I just want this to be out already! haha
