All points considered I've played just about everything mentioned. I own just about everything in the way of RPGs, including Fallout, all DS based RPGs which I might mention the only one I really liked was Chrono Trigger... which isnt really a DS RPG, and of course NWN1 & 2, ect ect ect. Maybe I'm just being greedy but they arent enough. I turned on and started on Suikoden II and Final Fantasy VII today again, both of which may last a long while which is nice but need something new and long. Words can't describe how bad I wish FF13 was here.

It just sucks the only stuff worth playing more than once was all made 10 years ago. And like what was said earlier, an RPG doesnt have to be groundbreaking, younger kids that shop at our local game collectors store buy his old titles all the time for often 70-100 bucks and come back for weeks talking about how awesome the games are we were playing back then.

It just seems like the industry is sick with laziness, and lacking loyalty to its players. I don't think its always been about money, not quite like it is now. There was a time when making a game was kinda like baseball "for the love of the game". As it stands all of the new consoles have one thing in common, there is absolutely nothing worth buying them for (no offense to those who are enjoying this generation). I'm just sticking to PC, most stuff comes out for it anyway.

So I was looking around at games today and it crossed my mind, where the hell are the RPGs. I mean the real ones, not these pathetic 6 hour main story games we are being force fed now but I mean those F@$^@$^ epic ones we played in the 1990s. Someone shoot me if Final Fantasy is all thats left. Anyone remember 1995-2002. I can think of 65 or so titles that came out in that time that I could and would play for 70+ hours a piece, some that had actual replay value and well thought out stories. I don't think we have improved as gamers and thats the justifiable excuse for why they don't last as long, the few that come out now anyway.

I mean seriously it's like the overall dumbing down of the media industry to appease the stupid, which didnt really need to happen because RPGs sell, a factory sealed copy of half of Squares old lineup still go for 200+ and around 50-80 used. I thought movies were shorter in the 90s, but I still left most of them thinking WOW, that was awesome for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Now every movie just takes 2 more hours to prove to you it sucks while blatantly dazzling you with special effects. I thought games were longer back then, I have titles with grueling 156:22, 78:34, and 99:99 hour play times. I still don't know if I found everything in them either, but did any of you ever live for that 70 hour push to utterly conquer a game? I loved long games, I loved my RPGs, but they are gone now, the golden age of RPGs is over, and maybe gaming all together, but hey, that's just my opinion. Every time I go to get another game there just isnt anything with any substance or depth. Have our game devs truly given up on creative talent in favor of money and the masses? You tell me, cause from the angle I've been seeing it, unless you play sports, racing or FPS, your getting shafted as a gamer right now...

Is it just me or has EA gotten way to big for its britches, I mean to start with they going around buying up and destroying game companies like a fat boy and some cake. Their serial keys, registrations, online downloads, and many other services have become rediculously complicated. Its like you have to jump through hoops just to own something you bought.

My hardware features support for alot more upgrading but only if I move to say windows vista... which is never gonna happen. So I have heard about 64bit Windows XP before but never used it or personally encountered a computer with it.

I was just wondering how everyone feels about it?

Is it good for gaming?

Will programs like emulators for PS1, SNES, GEN still work?

Any major problems with it?

Does it use direct x 10 or 9?

Will it run early to late Windows XP games, or Windows 98 material for that matter?

Is it amazing with good hardware?

Does it have any of the problems that make us hate Vista? (sorry vista lovers)

Is it a memory hog at any time?

Once again I need the name of an oldie.

The game is a side scrolling fighting game of sorts but you could buy equipment from time to time. It featured a gambling system, had a really good 2 player system.

The game saved using the input sequence codes ($$%^@^ ASFFW+ 3425245#) which you reenter as given to continue on.

There was the notable comedic feature that when staying in hotels or riding in boats you could use the cheap, average, or exspensive options which yielded hilarious results (Ie cheap for boats was rowing acroos in a barrel)

You can return to almost any part of the game anytime you want as long as your not too far, you did have to walk though.

The first part of theadventure is trying to turn a ghost town back into human by killing a spirit or something.

I think people fail to notice some of the better things about the games. The real dirt on FF7 is that it marked the beggining of a sort of golden age in gaming or at least in RPGs. It was groundbreaking in the respect of consoles of the time and drew untold new leagues of fans to the RPG genre and consoles as well.

The golden age I speak of is that RPGs got so hyped that 6-7 blockbuster rpgs came out a year as well as tons of other games in between that were of replayable quality. If you wanted a good game in other genres they flourished as well with so many new customers so their was lots of quality titles on the markert.

FF7- was just fun, which is something we all needed in an RPG at the time. It also marked the beggining of another trend we would see become popular in games wihich was stuffing them with minigames.

FF8 - was very realistic in terms of graphics but was lackluster among other brighter FF titles.

FF9- had some extremely lovable characters that made the story worth following.

As for the rest:

FF10 - Graphics gallore at the time, interesting story.

FF10/2 - While the game often reminded you of a cheap 1970s porn flick it had a very streamlined battle system where characters acted simultaneously instead of in turn but still kept battle turn based.

FF12 - Kept the battle formula from 10-2, good story like in 10 and 7, and made leaps and bounds in terms of the combat system which for the first time abandoned the act and wait strategy. The game arrived far to late in the PS2s life cycle to be noticed.

So to sum up what I'm saying, FF7 just had a notable positions in a time when the gaming industry started to flourish. My personal experience of it back then was that I almost never bought a game that wasnt good and worth what you paid for it. Right now the gaming industry is devoid of as many robust titles as back then and now sometimes $50 just isnt worth it anymore. Companies have loadedthe market with crap games for insane prices right now. RPGs are extremely rare especially good ones. So I guess all us fanboys like to reminisce about the good old days.

Its a Game Boy-Game boy Advance Era RPG, this is all I remember about it.

You were asked certain questions which detirmined a delima your character is put in and the way you solve the delima detirmines what kind of character you get as a main character.

One of the delima's was an old man on a mountain path who you had to push boulders for to clear a path, you could move enoug, some, or all of them.

The game feartured a bank system for money and items maybe.

You helped build a city of sorts later on?

The battle system allowed you to have 3 characters.

In battle you could only see the monsters and not your charcters, and it is turn based of course.

I just thought I'd ask if there are any online first person shootermultiplayer games right now that are alive and kicking. I'm excelent at FEAR and absoloutly love it. I have been interested in Battlefield 2142 and I have heard that COD4 is kick ass. Anything else out there worth looking at?

Funny story, I had the misfortune of not being able to get online to check out Empire Earth 3, and in a idiotic leap of faith, I bought it over COD4. Pretty stupid on my part, thats 50 bucks I cant get back, hohumm.
