Out of these two? Tough one... KOTOR and Mass Effect are both interesting RPGs. Fallout 3 is an awesome instalment to the Fallout franchise. I'm inclined to give Bioware the point here.

[QUOTE="zomglolcats"][QUOTE="JigglyWiggly_"]Uh all games are for WIndows, what do you expect the result to be? People who vote for unix-like/unix systems have no idea what they are talking about. And the most vocal unix-like system users are almost always idiots... This is coming from a big *nix fan. I chose Windows 7.

Yeah I don't really even know why he put Linux and Mac up there. If you're choosing an OS for gaming, those shouldn't even be on your list. Yes, Linux has Wine, but a lot of the latest games don't work on it, and some run glitchy. Wine is hardly the holy grail of gaming for Linux.

Firstly Choice. Secondly, MAC is the most popular NX system. EA and Blizzard are already making Windows / MAC compatible games. Finally I don't believe it's always going to be Microsoft vs Open Source, rather NT vs NX. Just as Linux started a cell multiplication effect so to will ReactOS when it finally takes off, meaning Windows will not be the ONLY NT system on the market. I'm not saying either NT or NX will prevail over the other, just that will be both "Ent" and "Nix" users

Personally if I had to use NT for games I'd go with XP Pro, but I'd rather the stability, security and efficiency of Linux.

NT... Yes I speak of what is widely know as Microsoft Windows and also the uprising of the open source NT systems (ReactOS in particular). With Windows 7 to be released in 2010 and ReactOS in Alpha stages...

I am posting this poll/discussion with regard to the state of the game scene on NT.

Before we go on sales have nothing to do with this comparison.

Comparing the XBox 360 to the PlayStation 3...

Here's some references (Wikipedia) to go over...

Playstation 3 & PSN

XBox 360 & LIVE

To the untrained eye the specs side by side may not look all that different, but it's only when you start comparing how they each perform you will more like notice the difference.

Don't start with Halo 3 is better than Killzone 2 crap because that is not a comparison of any sort. To really compare the two like drivers racing the same car, use the same game on both systems (obviously). Saint's Row 2 is a basic but a good one to start with...

Start a new game and play out the first mission where you escape Stillwater Prison. When you reach the boat chase sequence it's there you're going to see the difference between the consoles. PS3 handles the sequence seemlessly. XBox 360 however... The framerate is choppy, especially when you go under the bridge.

The other major point is the online play...

LIVE vs PSN...

PSN is free.

LIVE is a subscription paid service.

Now... LIVE's subscription may very well deliver exclusively good online service for your hard-earned gold silver & nickel, but only 27 countries currently are benefitting from it. PSN is free and available to anyone with an internet connection (a good one helps) and that's more countries with access than what LIVE has. PSN's speeds may be an issue... But with a good connection, that can become significantly less of an issue.

IMO, XBox 360 cannot contend with PlayStation 3 on level ground. Seriously there is no comparison. And why would pay for LIVE when I could just pay for a better ISP service!

Anyone else like to put forward there for/against arguements?

Here's an interesting thought for you all...

If you took $1,000,000 (say USD) and used every last cent to build a fully customised personal computer (box, software, peripherals and all).

What would you have?

I've already got Midnight Club's MC3DUB for the PSP and MC:LA for the PS3. Now I've if I already have MC3 on the PSP is it worth while getting MC:LA Remix?

Here's a completely random pole for you all...

Some may find this to be a bit of a trick question, which adds to the randomness.

anyway, it's something to get a bit pondering going.
