Here's an interesting thought for you all...

If you took $1,000,000 (say USD) and used every last cent to build a fully customised personal computer (box, software, peripherals and all).

What would you have?

I would make one of those water cooled pcs where the whole thing is basically underwater. I forgot where the source is but they actually have done this in the past though I guess the temps were kinda unsignificant.

For a million bucks, I'd rather spend 990,000$ on a car, 5000$ on a laptop and the same on a desktop.

Hahaha.. i'm saying this to play devil's advocate.. I would buy a Mac... with eight cores.. several terabytes of hard drive space dual drives with a blu-ray reader and a blu-ray burner. Apple Cinema display, 16GB of Ram and quad GT 295s from Nvidia. alass that would only cost around 20,000 dollars. So the rest of the money would be spent on different things. good sound system to plug the computer into. A laptop .... Chevy Camero with a built in computer. :) Oh by the way I would also run Windows 7 on the Mac in BootCamp or whatever software that is currently used to run ti.

I'ld have more of a network of PCs than one big PC. Including a chilled liquid cooled gaming PC ($10k), a truly silent HTPC ($475K), a media server i can contact to from the internet ($325K), enterprise grade linux firewall ($20K) and a couple netbooks and laptops ($10k), all networked with 1gbit ethernet, 600mbs Wifi and ISP grade internet connection ($160k).

I'd buy a Cray super computer with a PCI-e add-on boards and have like 26 way SLI with GTX 295's...a couple 104 inch LCDs...fiber optic internet...that should do it.

Integrated modem-router that will maximize bandwidth. Cutting-Edge High Definition Audio / Visual capable hardware. Fully customized mouse, keyboard, surround-sound headset. Fully customized Linux operating system designed to run and support all software. Super-Computer CPU and RAM with full system ventilation and cooling to run a super high speeds. Case that operates quietly and efficiently with low heat emissions. Latest optical reader/writer (currently Blu-Ray). Multiple "Ultra-Sized" Hard-Drives (say 4 x 100 Terrabyte HDDs). With full wireless capability.

I'd buy a house with 3 floors, 7 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (with marble tiles) which has a kitchen with marble floors and sideboards and huge garden with a pool.

+ Nissan GTR and then I'd get the best gaming PC on the market from newegg for $5000.
