How has 3D "failed in the past"?

gamer-adam1

Im thinking Virtua boy? I dunno, im personally excited for 3D and feel its going to be here to stay. If Jim Cameron has anything to do with it anyways. :D

3D movies started with the red and blue glasses, ya a theatre full of people wearing the red and blue glasses

I was thinking more along the lines of 3D gaming, but yea 3D movies have been around tho they never failed.

[QUOTE="zbdyx"]Multiplayer is where the money is, and frankly, I love it. It's more fun playing a game co-op than with friends. It is also fun beating other people in competitive game types.Midnightshade29

That may be great when you are in school... but when your 31...who am I going to play a ds game with? :o

I bought the game thinking it was going to be like the old DQ games.. Like Dragon Warrior 1-4 that I remember playing back in the 80s or DQ7 and 8 on the PlayStation Consoles. Level 5 sucks this gen (besides Jeanne D'arc -- their last true SP game!)

LOL I got my wife one, kid as well. Guess its time for an investment? ;)

The reason the 3-D gimmick will fail and has failed in the past is for the simple reason that people get sick, and get hurt while playing the games or watching movies in 3-D.

Will you still play in 3-D knowing it will cause you to be ill or permenately degrade your vision?

This is why it will have success. All of gaming was a gimmick at one point. I am not sure when some gamers are going to understand it's these gimmicks which have moved gaming forward.

The internet is a gimmick as well!

[QUOTE="canoecamue"]Is what I was commenting about, I dont feel anyone is "climaxing" over the online, its just another piece of whats going to be a great game. Not that it matters, I smell lemming anyway.heretrix

Why would you even bring the rest of the game up in a thread about the online? Nobody (at least not me) is dissing the game as whole. Bringing up the rest of the game and getting defensive is completely unnecessary.

Defensive??? My comment was not even to you. /shrug

[QUOTE="canoecamue"][QUOTE="Dance_Gavin"]This thread is about the online play.

heretrix
Sure is. Thank you for letting me know.
[QUOTE="heretrix"]

I'm not fully convinced. I haven't seen a Japanese developer do an online component worth playing for more than 5 minutes with the exception of Demon's Souls..

Dance_Gavin
Yeah I'm not sure why everyone is getting worked up about something so miniscule. Voice chat for a lobby, spectate races and a bulletin board you can check stats? Mind blowing. It's like people are so starved for any info they climax at anything that comes their way..

You asked for gameplay there it is and it looks alot better than GTA.

GTA is FINISHED.

Instashot
Looks like fun! Tho im not impressed at all visually, looks very bland imo. Cant say its gonna do anything to gta sales tho, especially when 5 comes out and is in SA (fingers crossed).

People are excited for this game in general, not just the online play.
