So far, Sony is the only company which does not update thier controller every gen. Both Microsoft and Nintendo have been updating thier controllers every gen, mostly improving ergenomics, Microsoft now has I think made the most comfortable controller, just infront of the GC pad last gen.

However, with motion controls comming to the forground, and Sony attempting to create it's own wiimote/nunchuck, do you think they might embrace motion controls next gen and make these controllers standard? If so, it'll be the first real controller change for Sony... ever.

DriftRS

I think if it aint broke dont fix it, tho I wouldnt mind something along the lines of adjustable analog tension to improve fighters. So I dont have to wear my thumb raw playing with the d-pad. As for playing any other genre I have never had a problem with the controller, be it cramping or other pains.

[QUOTE="FelipeInside"]ALTHOUGH I agree with most characters looking the same... I don't get the COMPLAINTS about new gear and obsolete gear. Isn't that what an MMO is? Always get better gear... And it's also about visiting new places/dungeons with ur new gear,,,, fighting new bosses,.... new spells etcsnared04

-Sure, you can make very different versions of classes through the talent trees, but there is no reason to experiment or step out there, seeing as how, with each new patch, the optimal talent spec is quickly found and everyone uses the same one. As mentioned above, PVE mage is all about arcane right now. No two ways about that at the moment, you go arcane, or you go home.

I believe you have the wrong idea with talent specs Snared04. While the community (WoW Class Forums ect.) has been a great help for generally the WoW players, outliers can still build talents to cope with cookie cutter specs. Currently I play a dk and until recently I built a spec to take advantage of players using generic PvP builds and so far its been a great success.

Just to correct you about mages, both arcane and fire are performing well in PvE:

Fire Mage

Arcane Mage

Makes me smile :) Wish I was raiding still, tho the rest of my life suffers too much from my addictive personality..

IGN has a topic about this kind of thing. It mentions onimusha as a wanted collection.

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/110/1103462p1.html

I don't think third parties will be jumping on the bandwagon, They will want to go multiplat and then decide it will cost too much money because of multiple discs. Plus Konami already did the MGS collection on PS2 and put MG1 on the PS store so I doubt we would see it.

Class balance will always be an issue, as a mage I recall raiding MC and BWL as frost and topping dps as well as raping melee in pvp. Then fire was the **** (please see this) but in pvp you were an easy take down vs frost. Now from the vids I see everyone is arcane. Basically I went from top damage and hard to kill, to ok daMAGE (pwnt by huntards and locks) even tho my name is in the word (see what I did thar?) and midrange in pvp unless I respecced. /shrug

OoSuperMarioO

Mages are actually in a good place in PvP with great survivability, cc and damage dealing(Frost PvP Spec). Mages is also one of the highest damage dealers in a PvE raid setting.

Please take into account that a large majority of PvP videos are nothing but highlight reels disregarding an actual representation of the game.

Oh definitely, a frost specced mage has always been tough as balls (tho I hate arenas and always preferred ab, wsg, or world pvp). I quit before you could have 2 base talent specs, so I had to pay gold everytime I respecced and therefore remained fire. Still cant see a frost mage being top dps in a raid on the lich king, im sure an spriest, rogue, warrior, lock, hunter, fire/arcane mage would rape them on the charts.

WoW is dead to me. It's become repetitive, everything you do is just a never ending grind for better and better gear. That and being a Paladin player, I find Blizz really screwing us over at every turn. There's pretty much nothing that can bring me back at this point.

snared04

Ditto.

I've been messing around in the Cata Alpha a bit, but every time I come back to this game, I get "the best" stuff in a month or two, then discover why I quit the last time. It's a reliable, and consistent time sink, but it's just a grind in the end, and everyone is just a carbon copy of everyone else. Nees a revamp badly, but I doubt they'll go out on enough limbs to satisfy my needs for innovation, might stop being WoW if they did.

The alpha looks pretty radically different however, hardly recognized Org and the Barrens, and riding a flying mount through both was admittedly fun.

thats why I quit, tho I would like to ride my flyer in org and uc.

I think Blizz are very smart with this new expac. They are going back to the original WoW and retooling it. Which I think will see lots of vanillia fans return to the game. As well as new people. Because now everyone is encouraged to roll a lowbie char so there will be lots of people to group with. And Deathwing is rockin the whole flugging world!!

Raxzor
Will definitely make running through the barrens much easier, no more Gnomer tho. : /
