@JoshDPU I was really disappointed by that. On the first playthrough I shouldn't have to play on hard to have a somewhat decent boss fight.

@moonBlade35 Ni No Kuni had a boring story. Esther, Swaine, and nearly every other character besides drippy had such an insignificant role that it was pretty much pokemon - and I was following around Ash on a quest to find his Mom and defeat the bad guy.

Making games is art, playing them is entertainment

Sequels.... ugh... Nintendo needs to get out of its rut and innovate. Don't use new technology to optimize the game play and story, use the game play and story to optimize the technology. Books have never changed medium and they never fail to convey a thrilling story (however there are bad stories). I understand that creating a new world can be difficult and that nostalgia is a very powerful force but if you don't create new ideas you fail to reach new audiences.

Ideas for new Zelda game:

Investigate the relationship between Link, Zelda, and Ganon. Humanize the characters and give them deep and meaningful dialogue. Mix linear and open world exploration to bring meaning to towns and dungeons. Have strong side characters to develop the world and main characters. Innovate the battle system, change it from a hack-and-slash system to a thoughtful fluid battle system that utilizes tactics and talent differentiation. Don't be afraid to use good graphics, while cell-shading is endearing I believe a touch of realism would bring life into the world. Maybe consider voice actors, voice acting does wonders for crafting a convincing story.

All of these are just ideas, I doubt Nintendo will be innovating the Zelda series anytime soon, or ever.

@CentumAngelus Thank god there is at least one person on this page who is not entirely sexist, or in denial of their own sexist nature. Don't know why people freak out about things like this, do they still think girls are gross or something...

I love how almost every response to this page is from a male, most of which appear to be slightly sexist. Providing opportunities for females to experience the gaming industry is hardly sexist. They are attempting to draw more females into the industry so it's not a mast fest like it is now. With everyone complaining about female portrayal in games, why not let a female design and write the character. Then you can say she is incompetent rather than sexist if the character comes out poor.

So you can't buy as many new games at release, not a big deal. If you are willing to pay the price of a new console at release, then you shouldn't be worrying about the price of games. ~$600 for a new console is a much bigger dent to your wallet than an additional $10 for each game you buy.

Remember when games' success was determined by the quality of the single player mode... Such a beautiful time
