@DarthLod Children, and young adults. I feel like they may have used casual gamers as I focus group. People who don't buy used games, or buy new games so infrequently that used game blocks mean nothing to them. These consoles have really been trying hard to breach that market.

@JBStone1981 It is always a possibility. I don't think "the race for release" will happen with some of these new consoles. They will probably stand back and watch if another console crashes and burns, and then use that info to make their console better.

@DarthLod True but how likely do you think that is? Who is the greatest consumer of xbox related products. Here's a hint, it's not the upper class.

@DarthLod I don't feel like they would have proposed the idea if there was not some potential gain from it. This is a multimillion dollar company, they have too much to lose with risky business tactics. The gaming market is volatile and very competitive. If they fail they could be ejected from the market, like the sega console was.

I keep reading a lot of speculation. Some of you fail to realize that these companies hire professional economic staff. These are not just some idiots speculating on potential profit. They handle this like a science, collecting data, focus groups, future gain analysis, etc...

Expecting someone to understand their reasoning, someone who has no experience in any form of economics, is a long jump. You just end up getting a lot of pissed-off people. Also none of these consoles are released. It is more difficult to create a system which would block used software after release than it is to remove one. It is more prudent to create this system, determine potential gains and loses from it, and than scrap it if it disadvantages out number the benefits.

Wasn't sure about Gamespot at first, then I watched this. Hilarious! I watched all the episodes before I knew what happened. I'm not sure why, but stupidity comforts me. It's like a lullaby of bad grammar, swearing, and off-color humor.

Not sure how I feel about this. The entirety of the world to explore, but having to deal with MMORGP components might just ruin it. The game play videos did not look particularly inspiring. Its possible a fantastic idea could be ruined as this developer attempts to step into a new arena. Or they could end up shoving their fists down my throat as they prove me wrong.

Final Fantasy 13 is my favorite installment in the series, actually it is my favorite game. I am glad that out of all games it was the first to be chosen for a trilogy. At first I thought they were going to be randomly extending the story, but there appears to be planning involved. Pretty happy about this, sorry to all those waiting for the next installment. Ehh.. who am I kidding, no I'm not. Suck it!
