I got my 360 back in 2009 and just bought gears 1 2 days ago after hearing everyone talk about how great it is. Im currently on chapter 2 and Im not impressed. The game play is a little fun but the story is weak, the graphics are meh, and the characters are boring. Even the locations aren't interesting. People told me it was like mass effect but gears is nothing like mass effect. And ofcoarse when I bought the game at gamestop the cahsier was kind of giving me a hard time for waiting so long to play it after having a 360 for 2 years. I told him I was a PC elitist and that got him to shut up lol.

Have a ps3 and 360. Just picked up resistance: fall of man. and you described how i feel about that. I liked gears 1 though... Im pretty sure for the older games its a nostalgia thing, cause i know peeps would disagree with how i feel about resistance. But Gears 2 sucked and was repetitive.... Some parts were cool though, but nothing memorable. and the online is terrible for gears. Horde mode and campaign is where its at for Gears. rental material IMO with smooth graphics.

But Im getting Rage first. and Gears 3 if i can get some decent trade in value to get it cheap, or else ill wait till price drop too many other good games coming out at the same time.

but yes i do enjoy video games, a lot of my friends to as well, not that embarassing. I know some actual attractive girls who play Duty as well which is strange.
