People do not want an outdated console but they also want a long lifecycle. You just cannot have both with the way PC tech is rapidly progressing, consoles are bound to fall behind. If consoles were $1000 with high end hardware, I could see that being feasible but for now 3-4 year release cycle seems alright. People spend way more on phones every year but when it comes to consoles, their wallets disappear so a higher price point is not sustainable.
@lastofus234: It will upgrade the graphical settings in 1080p with better anti-aliasing and more stable framerates. It will make a difference even if you dont have a 4k tv but it is still better if you had one.
The score seems lower than I expected it would get. Right now, the meta-critic rating average is at 85 so according to the consensus , its doing pretty well. This review is quite harsh on the game. Xbox exclusives have been hits or misses. I think this one might be ok.
I feel like Microsoft is doing a good job since their integration to PC. I give them props for listening to the consumers since the abysmal release of their original Xbox one. Personally, I've been a fan of Sony since I was a child and I've worked for them recently but I would like to see both companies bring everything to the table.
I know Sony has recently received a lot of flak for their decision making recently but I feel its still early to decide who takes the cake. We have to see how it turns out when the new consoles releases. I was initially hoping Sony would release a new Playstation around the time of Scorpio to compete with them directly with similar specifications. Now is there a reason to get third party titles on PS4 pro rather than the Scorpio? Their only saving grace is exclusives.
@Golden_Gonads: Remasters of games that came out on a previous console is fine for those who have not tried the game out at all. It makes sense to have them since a lot of people switch consoles each generation. As long as all the development resources and time is not spent on doing remasters solely then I am alright with this strategy personally.
@zero_juice: While I might still get to play it, I do not think its worth it playing on a sub par laptop. I could definitely wait though for a complete experience. Used to play Legion on nearly maxed out settings at higher resolution so moving down to 720p low setting is a drastic change. Thanks for the suggestion though. If not now, will definitely play it later.
@horosavinXX: I used to have a gaming laptop but that doesn't work anymore since the mobo malfunctioned and it cost way more than I expected to get it repaired. The only computer I have is an HP Elitebook that would struggle to play anything. Don't even want to try play WoW on it.
I would like to return to the game again but my PC is in a bad condition. I can only build my new rig early next year. Hope it still stays this good when I return. Usually when the expansion releases, WoW has its honeymoon phase and thereafter all the hype and fun dies down once Blizzard somehow messes something up.
@theboomster10: Right now a 10 tflop gpu cost a fortune but in 2 years or so, it will be relatively cheap considering how fast the gpu market is progressing in terms of technology. Nvidia's GTX Titan from Maxwell architecture costed nearly a $1000 dollars. Now the new Pascals 1070 which is close to half the price has similar performance to that Titan GPU. When the Volta architecture comes out, I expect it to be a similar trend. In 2 to 3 years a 10 Teraflop gpu will probably cost 200-300 dollars at most so its not too far-fetched to think that they could incorporate it into a new PS. Whether we like it or not, the console life cycle is going to be much shorter with a console releasing every 3-4 years.
