It's great that MS thinks their games are better. All I see are generic shooters that don's add anything to their pallets of games. To make things worse their "best" games are not from their studios owned by them but bought exclusives that can go multi platform after some time.
I don't buy a console for release games but for the whole period I will us the console and MS proven to ignore the hardcore gamer after they are on board.
It's no secret Gabe hates Windows with a passion and Windows 8 even more. This step is not to compete with the Xbox and PlayStation (for now) but with Windows and MS in general. The statement that is made in this article about OpenGL is false because it's used widely and will grow considerably more now PS4 is supporting it so transition between the 2 platforms will be quite easy and the multi platform developers haven't had any problem using it.
If the new system will include a console like home pc and Half life 3 as an exclusive title they sure will hit it off big.
I think what MS wanted to do needed the trust of the public, the trust of the Xbox fans. Because their message was so vague and their track record with "trust" and "digital content" is a shaky as can be the customers voted "no".
I don't know what their vision is anymore. They stated with tv, tv, fantasy sport and more tv but nothing of that stuff went over to Europe and Asia. They showed some games they bought exclusivity for but from the former studios they actually acquired during the start of the 360 only a few studios remain and a lot of empty shells are left and no commitment is shown to change that in the future. They tell they are for hardcore gamers but they included the gimmicky Kinect for the casual gamers they are and have been cuddling for the past three E3's with a slew of horrible Kinect titles to show for. Nothing shows vision or consistency and MS saying they do doesn't make it true.
The statements in this article tells me they'll reveres their reversals when THEY think the time is right, NOT when the customer thinks it is right.
On PS3 I can buy full digital day 1 titles (if I care to put a shitload of money on the table). I sometimes buy digital DLC and sometimes smaller games. I'm not getting forced. If the prices for full digital day 1 games go down to a point I can justify the purchase I'll consider going digital. I, the consumer decide about the future of gaming. If a company doesn't build it's trust, let me experience how awesome their vision is I won't trust you. Not that I trust Sony 100% but they still have to disappoint me and I don't see it happen anytime soon. I love the new PS4, it's hardware specs and price, I love Plus (I'm from Europe) and I love the game studios they have. I love how they show continuing support for PS3 with more then 20 exclusive titles this year and not just tell us they support the system for the next 3 years but shows us.
That's a very expensive indie title. Yes I know Sony does the distribution but Quantic Dream is not owned by anyone. I just love how Sony supports these type of niche experiences. It's the only game I actually pre orderd and if it's half as good as Heavy Rain I'll have an amazing time playing this game over and over again.
Putting a minor in a game and do it non sexualizing way and praise yourself for it is a bit silly. Unlike Japanese developers that put huge breasted schoolgirls in their games the way ND does it is the only right way to do it.
I think the other female characters in The Last Of Us do a much better job to prove their point. But I think they succeeded in making an amazing AAA game that is meaningful and adult without the cheap tricks most of these titles are guilty of.
Can't wait to hear on what titles both ND studios are working on for PS4.

Also the Xbox One offers now a Blu-ray (slower then the 6x speed of PS4) and 4K support. MS is expecting for 4K to take off and they need a Blu-ray because of the size the games will have with HD (not 4K) resolution. I think that all proves Sony is on the right track investing in these technologies.
How the **** do they get this information and when they are right why don't they offer more first party titles that speaks a bit more to women? Sure there are women who love to play Halo and Titanfall but most gaming women I know also like an intelligent story, strong female protagonists and a bit more then only shooting. But then all gaming women I know own a PS3 that actually delivers content they like (and I like it to)...
