This is for a school project. I need age and the general amount of hours a day spent playing videogames. Thanks in advance! If you want,I could also post the statistics but with the amount of posts I'll probally get, it'll only be enough to BS this project.

It's no coincidence that the "competitive" SSBM community played items off and only on final destination.

only on final destination.

Wtf, I'm tired of casuals spouting BS like this. Go to a smash tournament before saying something stupid like this, or atleast watch some competitive matches (except Japanese ones, the onlystages they use is FD and Dreamland, even in friendlies).

i'd rather watch or participate in a PC game tournament any day of the week. plus i believe PC FPSs have something similar to this (clan v. clan battles) called scrims. they happen way more often then console tournaments.

Attending a tournament or playing against random players on pubs, on both platforms a tournament or LAN party is preferable.

now about the PC players hopping on xbox live and battling console noobs and 12 year olds, lemme ask you...why would ANYONE want to do that? we play FPSs on the PC for that very reason. we dont want crappy controls because the kb+m is perfect.

Noverech

It's called attending a tournament.

For all this talk about competition, how many of you are any good at the games you mentioned and have attended a respectable tournament?

Pointing and clicking with a mouse has always been easier, so I guess if you're no good with dual sticks, PC FPS games will turn your crank more. Using sticks is more difficult and requires much more finese.wyan_

Sticks are more difficult to aim with but at the same time they reduce what you're capable of. Seriously, try keeping constant 360 degree security with a stick in a shooter.

Online play is horrible compared to local play. Go to a LAN party or a tournament, then go back to online, it sucks. But it's good for games that don't have the community to host those and people who can't attend them.

I live in Japan, so that's a no go. And even if I were back in the States, I would be absolutely mopped to the floor in less than 10 seconds. I am not a good SF player, and SFIV is really my first time playing a SF game in a loooooong time. I'm ages away from being a tourney participant, let alone a somewhat competitive player online.

With that mentality you'll won't get better. Don't hesitate to go to a tournament just because you aren't good, fight better players and you'll improve over time. Pros don't mind playing low level players, they'll even give advice if you ask for it. Also try to compete offline, lag can mess up your input.

Go check your regional matchmaking, there should be some tournaments next to you.

EDIT: Dang it, gamespot screwing up my posts.

Do You know about the turtle game coming to the wii? You might be interested in that one...

No, I'm not. And I don't see why they wouldn't make another Smash Bros.
