@mathi4s: so you're going to bag on people who enjoy things you don't like.

@jimabadon: the state of the game as it is is exactly what people who actually want to play it asked for.

@adamjensen20: thank you! Tired of crap players saying games suck because they can't play them.

Even in the 90s my non-gamer parents would get on me if I said the game cheated. "That game ain't cheating you, you need to play better" they'd say. Nowadays gamers are so coddled.

@chillingnaire: oh look, an opinion. Some players still want this "out-dated" gameplay.

@darkelf83: yes, it is sad. The game should be judged on its own merits, not in comparison to other games.

@zmanbarzel for $40 bucks you get three games, that's practically already bargain-bin.

"Abrupt spikes in difficulty that could have been ironed out

Outdated designs feel at odds with the modern presentation"

With all due respect, Peter, this is wrong. You seriously gave this game a 6 for delivering exactly what it promised: the same exact game as 20 years ago with better graphics. As for the so called difficulty spikes, you might remember a time when video games expected you to actually be good at playing them.

When you review a game, dont dock it based on YOUR personal complaints. Assess whether the game competently delivers what it promised, and rate it based on that.

If you look on youtube, you'll find that Rayman already had a show but it only lasted 4 episodes. Rayman was voiced by the same guy who voiced Doug and Fry.

@Sirkrozz @Kelleyb4947 I believe the creator of Medievil already said he doesn't think a new game would work in the present day because it's not the 90s anymore, to paraphrase.

@kiaduplex @Spacerac @Yojimbo789 presumably, no matter the console you use you'd take it out of town with you to use on your down time. Also, what makes you think you can connect to the internet that easily on a console via a phone?

@notorious98 I'm the same, I mostly use my blu-ray player for netflix too, specially since it really screws up on regular dvds no matter how new the disc is. But I still plan on getting a 360 to play the games I missed, like Kameo and the Gears/Halo games.
