@Pyrosa: It's not meant to be a linux computer, it's just a side benefits.

What purpose the box serves? You can't play decently on a laptop, the ergonomnics sucks unless you use it like a PC. But then you already have a PC.

It serves the same purpose as any gaming handhelds you ever had an will have.

@alphazonex: It's not "good games, it's games that "sell very well", That often are good games, but not all good games sell well an"d sometimes deals like GP can save them.

I am glad they fixed the game, it was, for me, great on launch as I played on PC, but it is better now for pc playes and so much better for console players.

However the issues were not the devs, it was the execs that pushed for the release too early against the wishes of the team. This is where re organisation has to be done.

@blankfaced: Brie Larson has one arrow, and it's wooden expresionless face.

It's weird and not convincing when she tries to emote.

Why should an adaptation of The legend of Zelda not have Link in it when all Legend of Zeldas have a Link as the protagonist and not all Legend of Zeldas have a Zelda?

Link is the hero, Zelda is side character and an afterthought. Just like Donkey kong is named after the villain, Metroid after the parasite, Hades after the hero's dad.. Having your name in the title doesn't make you the hero or even that important, Sometimes it's just to sound cool, or weird, or because it ended like that.

Anyways. Good job Kotaku writer.

@eni232: What to congratulate xbox on? GP being the number one gaming sub in the world. Their purchase of the N°1 publisher in the world.

Why does he have to mention xbox? He doesn't, but he purposely avoids it. While the other side doesn't.

Listen, being a fan boy is fine, but don't be oblivious or pretend you don't get things. It's petty and lame. Don't be a child and instead be an adolescent and know what you like while still being able to recognize the other side has good stuff. Even better be an adult and not care for the logo on your plastic box and see things with a wider view.

@illegal_peanut: Exactly what I am saying people pretending to not understand.

My point was up there and it's been said again and again by so many people. They are paying for exclusivities and bringing console wars to PC. That's why.

And it doesn't matter if it's on PC. it makes you register an account with them, on a platform that has many security problems. Makes you pay from that platform. Your games are now on a new store you probably didn't want.

And yes I am an old timer, my steam account is now 19 years old, It can have it's own drinks in most countries now, and having another launcher is fine, IF I was the one that chose to use it, not if I am forced because they paid for exclusivity.

EGS is worse than most of the launchers you mentionned because the others are launchers for the publishers own game and if they are not they don't pay for exclusivities. And while those publisher centric launchers are disliked. They are not hated like EGS because those launchers are mostly doing what is expected of them, a place for the publishers own games and they are not impeding your choice as customers... most of them. And no EGS is not providing a quality service like steam.

It has a tenth of the features. You can't see players reviews, you have no forums to chat about the game (this is to prevent players from voicing their opinions on the service and has nothing to do with being too tough to implement) and info of the game is much harder to find. From steam I can chat with devs directly if they are active or find their discord if not.

Me and my brothers use the family sharing feature extensively. I have 5000 games on steam and he has a couple thousands so this is very useful for us. Any game I buy on steam he can play from his own account and vice versa. Not on epic.

We also use steam remote play together to play coop games that are not meant to be playable online. Very useful.

And so many others things, like features like trophees, or friend lists, or other thing that might sometimes be on that other platform but I prefer to develop on one.

Those are my points, other players have theirs. But all of those would be fine, they are after all only reasons why Steam is better, not why EPIC is hated. That is it would be fine IF EPIC didn't buy exclusivity to force you to play the games on their launchers. That sh$t has no place on PC and that is why they are hated.

@cdragon_88: Funny how people pretend to not understand ^^

Yeah EGS is just a launcher and "it's not steam" but there are other online stores with launchers. Like GOG or even itch.io and they are not hated at all. They are even pushed up by players that love them.

The reason that people hate EGS is that they bring the console wars to pc and take away the choice from them. No one would have minded the EGS store if it did not take away choice from players by paying for exclusivities. That's the main objectionable thing about it.

@mediastupid1: Rare was gutted by Nintendo before MS acquisition. There wasn't much to kill. And even if they did you can't compare 15 years ago to now, the Xbox branch isn't the same as it was then and now.

As far as acquisition, in recent years, go MS has actually done pretty good at giving them their autonomy. Studios had bigger budgets and more time. Like with Starfield as mentionned above. It hasn't always worked, but well .. Does it always?

Things might even be great for Blizzard this time as they'll be free from Acti's clutches and they might get a chance to redeem themselves.
