I agree with this. League of Legends, Smite, Street Fighter, and any new rpg advertised on Facebook is sporting scantily clad women. Things no woman would ever wear into battle. The industry is indeed full of man babies who need to grow up. We are not interested in your video game character fetish.

Maybe it makes no business for Avalanche since their stories aren't even up to Michael Bay's standards. But if you look at how many story-driven games outsell all their titles...

LOL Weren't those two games already HD enough the first time around? Is it really taking them that long to do FFVII? They said they would on their next-gen system.

It's alright, Danish news channel. Syria doesn't need an apology, and Assad could use a visit from Altair right about now.

Great article, Eddie. As for the readers commenting below, I commend those on both sides of the discussion who are using respect, logic and reason to talk about it. As for the rest, get bent. You're the types that spread hate because you pretend to understand someone's beliefs and end up disparaging them in place of intelligent thought, and don't try for a second to convince anyone you understand any philosophical or spiritual path.

@Morphine_OD I hate venturing into comments like this, but I've been verbally accosted by many a non-religious person in my life for a number of non-religious reasons. Hate exists everywhere.

And just to be clear, I don't believe that every game that features violence is over the line. Half-Life 1 and 2 are examples of violence used in a way that was both consistent with the story and not what I would consider excessive. It didn't glorify violence. It's theme was actually the preservation of life.

Because quality gameplay can be developed in a number of contexts, not needing to be subject to any of them. In theory, it can be anything. I can think of a few ways Hotline: Miami can still be a blast and not have an ounce of blood spilled. I have seen the gameplay, and its mechanics are solid. Take away the headsmashing brutality and you still have a novel approach to stealth and combat that could work in a lot of different games.

@Prats1993 But I imagine it still could have been sophisticated and intelligent without having to feature that level of violence.
