just because someone doesnt have their own booth doesnt mean they wont be there.. you might see some publishers/developers on stage with Sony and/or Microsoft

These are community maps, the money goes to those who made them, not Valve.

I think this is a good thing. Yes, back in the day maps were all free. But this gives the creator of the map a chance to earn some money and maybe even get enough cash together to create a mod or game of their own full time. Its a way to give an amateur creator the chance to develop themselves and maybe even get noticed by one of the big companies. Hell, i might even go back to creating maps now..
