@dannydouble: Weeeell, no one is making videogames illegal.

This is just news about videogames it is not meant to imply videogames are bad, its just reporting what happened.

@iskaroth Most games on most consoles are rehashes, there are nine assassin's creed games on ps3 alone, for instance. There is an infinity of call of dutys, fifa's, and even the exclusives from companies get a lot of sequels in the same console, there are three uncharteds on ps3, one on vita and ps4 is already getting one soon, there are a lot of halos on x360 too and they will keep comming on xOne, same with forza, gears of war, but those IPs are way newer for the number of games already released. (And that is fine, all great games that appeal to different audiences, and more games equals more fun)

Nintendo reuses the same characters a LOT, and yes, because the characters are well stablished and they are a guarantee that the game will sell (and that can get tiring), but mostly they do that in different types of games, like, there are less mario kart games in 24 years (eight) than there are assassin's creeds in a single console generation. If you forget the characters and theming (which are mere cosmetics) and enjoy the gameplay by itself, then you can have a blast even disliking Mario and co. And you will notice how they are very different from each other.

Hardly they release a sequel in the same console, like pikmin, mario galaxy and metroid prime, those had only one sequel in a single generation and are very unique games.

The same way there is just four smash bros. games (or five) one per console.

Not only that but as the games are great from the beginning there arent really reasons to change them (you dont change a winning team), so they just build over it and add more content and balance.

Also, games are made to be fun, not all games need story, most games only get excuse story anyway and it can get in the way of the gameplay as things has to be moved around to acomodate it. Chess don't neet a story, checkers doesn't need a story, ping pong doesn't need story, those are games, and they are fun.

Story can make a game great, though, and can suck you in but is not neccessary, I rather read a book and later enjoy a dumb game with no story but tight controls and fun mechanics.

(damn, I tend to write a lot)

@SnakeEyesX80 YEP! I have 250 steam games, 90 percent bought in bundles or sales, I only buy bundles with games I want to play (so people cant make that old joke of "look at all these games I don't play") and sometimes the bundles come with games that I didnt knew and end up loving, so that's a bonus.

Even new games like tomb raider and sleeping dogs were dirt cheap on an amazon bundle. I keep track so I know I've spent 200 dollars total on my library, which can buy like, 4 new games for consoles.

Still love consoles though <3

Haven't played the new zelda, but from what I've heard, it will probably win. All of the other nominees are great too, and there are a few others that aren't nominees that are awesome too, heck, there are like 10 games that I wouldnt be surprised if they won!

@Scorpion1813 @zenstrata I agree with you, but then again disney did it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWKo5veKjVU
I mean, just reusing the motion capture and changing the textures and models on a computer generated animation is a billion zillion times easier, of course, but still, the scene design, the choreography, character designs and rotoscopy on these Disney scenes are heavily recycled.

Also motion capture is not considered animation to some folks too anyway.

I don't really see a problem on the game reusing it, it fits in nicely on the ending of the game, they could have changed it but the end result would be the same: soldier barely survives and gets rescued.

I MEAN, that's a cliché anyways, this same scene happened a thousand times on movies and tv shows, except you can't reuse the scene on those, just maybe the props. :P

What really bothers me is the amount of times the character climbs up a hatch or gets out of a door, looks up and sees some jets flying by just in the right time, for dramatic effect, THAT is overused as hell!

@pzb101 It's following the ranking system, it gave it a 6, on the official rating system. It's a bad game. Some reasons weighted more but that is how reviews are, honestly, I like batman but this made me barf.

It felt more like Arkham City than Black Ops 2 felt like Black Ops 1. Didn't play the new CoD (I don't like CoD I just play the SP on my friends house when I am hanging out because thats all they play and I get bored)

Black Ops 2 DID bring something new to the table for the series. It featured a branching story which changes depending on certain decisions you make throughout the game. And yeah that is not a lot, but only that was a huge change from the previews games compared to Arkham origins which didnt had anything else other than a bigger map and some more story elements that were kinda meh, old and predictable. Also don't forget that CoD is kinda more like fifa which has a mechanic that only needs a few tweeks and things here and there other to play competitively and cathers to a sorta different public.

So, no, the same review system is used, the same kind of scores, it just happens that one is considered bad and other is considered good.

@k16campbell So you are complaining that CoD got a good review (by other reviewer that has nothing to do with this one) even when it is repetitive and derivative and you think those reasons should detract from it's score, but when your little precious game get bad reviews for these exact same reasons you think it's horrible? Sounds like hypocrisy.
