Lol @ paying 60 bones for the same freackin game...AGAIN!...this time its shoved in your face...you are officially blind if you can't see what the gaming industry has turned into...LONG LIVE THE 16 bit era where gaming was for true nerds...and sorry to burst a lot of your bubbles, but liking Star Wars or Star Trek doesn't make you a nerd anymore...everything has gone corporate
Lol.. Ahhh all those Call of Duty lovers making threads on gamespot saying COD of Ghosts is a big improvement over the other COD games in graphics.. they re-use the same animations haha.
The call of duty copy paste thing is lazy. But in a game where most of its fan base doesn't even touch or even know there is a story mode, it doesn't matter.
lol ... as a console user you have to buy multiple copies of the same game because console hardware failure... you have to pay fot a GOLD/PREMIUM account and now for a multiplayer subscription :))
yeah... PC rulz !!! - download steam, install game (no matter the computer you are on) and play : buy one game enjoy 4ever
XBOX : buy 3 games, 2 consoles pay GOLD FEE and subscribe for a multiplayer experience and all for 800$ ! , BUY BOW
-- stupid people.
2:04 I couldn't care less. I'm not a CoD fan (more into UT2004, Open Arena, Deus Ex, L4D2...). Though, it's really not a surprise considering development costs and the need for short cuts.
"may have re-used animation assets from Modern Warfare 2"
Its quite clear they did, there are several youtube videos comparing it.
The whole game is almost copy and paste. Awe-ful graphics, copied ....pasted. Awe-ful fluid movement, copied.... pasted. Cheats, copied....pasted. Same old gameplay in multiplayer, copied....pasted. Same old maps, copied.... no wait we have to give them something. What about all those maps we made in the past? Great idea lets use them, but not all of them, they will pay more in a few months for our old maps and game play!
Jess, the image of a skull has mysteriously appeared on your t-shirt in the thumbnail. I think that's a sign a Japanese girl with bad hair is after you.
I'm sure they have to re-use tons of animations and art in order to come up with a new game every year, it's just that this time it was noticeable.
I couldn't care less about a next gen console. if they gave away free high end pcs, then I would gladly go to their facebook page and try my luck.
Infinity Ward's recycling of an old cut scene shouldn't be a huge deal. I personally feel as though the may have done it to see who is paying attention, generate some talk. Sure it lacks some originality but after all it is their project. And if Activision isn't bothered by it then why should we, right? Play on gamers, it will be okay!
Sorry, that were ruining that idealistic image up here :P. I expect COD to be the big seller for both the XBONE and PS4, it is COD after all........
So I would go over and check out that facebook thing, but I do not have a facebook account, nor do I want one. So I won't bother with that.
As for call of duty copying things, they do say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. It is possible that the animations were developed independently of one another, stranger coincidences have happened. But as long as the players are happy with the experience the game delivers, do we really care if it may have came from something else?
I'm not sure I agree with Activision's claim of making a Billion dollars off CoD. If theyre basing it on how many they sold to retail outlets and not on how many have been bought by consumers then surely that would also mean that Atari's ET game is one of the most successful games of all time, right?
It is difficult to pay attention to the news with a Resogun video on the background. Next-gen killer app candidate.
That COD: Dogs heist is funniest game news I've heard all year! They should turn it into a movie. :D
The truth behind that game store heist is that it wasn't actually a robbery at all. The gentlemen in question actually shoveled the store owners sidewalks and then treated him to a Leafs game, and the owner repaid their kindness with $75,000 in merchandise, which is approximately fair by Canadian standards. He then apologized profusely for filming them without their consent, and tore the security camera out of the wall.
See? Canada is still the best!
Hey guys, anyone want to buy COD:Ghosts? I recently got my hands on some extra copies, really cheap too...
I think CoD: Ghosts will do well on the next gen consoles.
There isn't many other good games out at release so I think most people would pick CoD: Ghosts up as a quick fix until some games arrive in 2014.
@cws3e it is kinda weird
@grin89 gamers are too lazy to rob a store :D
@ffragale1 Well, we do make an easy target, what with all our misspellings, bad grammar, LOLs and WTFs.
@nate1222 u cant take shortcuts with a massive francise like this people are going to notice ........ and they did :)
@jimdove2 : Considering how much money Activision makes they couldn't even improve the graphics for next-gen? At least DICE and EA have worked to improve a few noticeable things in BF4. Yes, BF4 may not have significant difference in BF3 or bad company 2 mechanically but at least BF4 feels like an upgrade. CoD is still the same and it's aging really bad.
For what reason CoD: Ghosts was 720p in X1 honestly? textures looks like ass in PS4, PC, X1 everywhere, not much particle effects, less polygons, static structures. Graphic Juggernaut games like Forza 5 and Ryse can run 60fps in 1080p and 900p respectively.
@NEWJERSEY-DEVIL woah a fellow Devils fan !
@JoshuaK1980 You fucking sicken me.
@JoshuaK1980 Perfectly Brainwashed Apologist.
@grumpyalbertm It's tall and narrow, so I would say that's more like a wine bottle (but the color isn't right). Good eye though. I had to rewatch it to see it!
As an animator I can say that there is no way that animation that similar is coincidental. They have most certainly reused something. Most likely they reused the motion capture footage and tweeked the animation from there.
Reusing animation isn't a problem. It's a common occurance, especially in the games industry with all the various animation cycles (walk, run, climb, attack, etc). Sucker Punch used the same movement animation in inFAMOUS that they had made for their Sly Cooper games.
The issue is that they have reused an entire set-piece/scene. That's just lazy and uncreative writing. As an animator, there is no way I would reanimate from scratch the same scene I've already made. I'd just reuse it and tweek it if necessary.
@smylexx Well, they have made a billion dollars. That is their claim. They never said that they've sold 1 billion dollars worth of games to costumers, only that they made 1 billion from retailers purchasing the game. So technically what they claim is true.
@x2rufff4u You've been saying this from day one. Do you wish to elaborate on what exactly is to be learned?
@x2rufff4u Ok, that's an improvement =DDDDD
@Dessicator Thank you for this comment.
@Scorpion1813 @zenstrata I agree with you, but then again disney did it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWKo5veKjVU
I mean, just reusing the motion capture and changing the textures and models on a computer generated animation is a billion zillion times easier, of course, but still, the scene design, the choreography, character designs and rotoscopy on these Disney scenes are heavily recycled.
Also motion capture is not considered animation to some folks too anyway.
I don't really see a problem on the game reusing it, it fits in nicely on the ending of the game, they could have changed it but the end result would be the same: soldier barely survives and gets rescued.
I MEAN, that's a cliché anyways, this same scene happened a thousand times on movies and tv shows, except you can't reuse the scene on those, just maybe the props. :P
What really bothers me is the amount of times the character climbs up a hatch or gets out of a door, looks up and sees some jets flying by just in the right time, for dramatic effect, THAT is overused as hell!
