@solarrainuk @PeetBurton @Arkhalipso They do. One particular section 3/4 in seems to be nothing but that, but according to the same people, it is not enough to not recommend it, as what is good in the game is really good. The game manages to be scary and the AI seems to be a winner, although frustration is bound to happen as well due to cheap, unexpected deaths.

@peterhorner1867 How did I discredit Kevin's review? I said it is just his opinion, which is all a review truly is. I had not decided on this game, specially after the Colonial Marines fiasco, and I only decided on it for the majority of good to great reviews that are already out. I don't agree with his opinion on this review, and I have the right not to.

@Arkhalipso @PeetBurton I'm not justifying anything. I'm just saying players or potential players for this game, should not limit themselves to just a couple of reviews.

Long playtime can be a bad thing, sure, but the consensus in that department is not the one in other reviews. If 2 critics are telling me a game is too long and boring, and the majority aren't, and after comparing their reasons for it, I sided with the majority because they seem to go into this type of game with the same mindset as I did. Doesn't mean it's wrong or right, it just means I agree with their reasons as opposed to Kevin's and the IGN reviewer.

After going through several reviews, this one and IGN's are the lowest ones. IGN review is absolute garbage, seems the complaints are how long the game is (!) and how hard the A.I is to deal with. How is that a bad thing in this kind of game? Both reviews make decent points, but it's funny how the negative aspects here are being praised and addressed as positive everywhere else. Other reviews: CVG- 8/10, Destructoid-8.5/10, PC Gamer-93/100, GamesRadar 4.5/5, Eurogamer 8/10. See a tendency here?

I for one am buying this game. After reading about 8 reviews so far, and almost all of them are overwhelmingly positive. This one in particular is just Kevin's opinion, but in my own opinion after comparing this to other reviews, he just didn't get right.

The very first game I ever pre-ordered. I own the original Gamecube version and it's a perfect game as far as I'm concerned. I played other versions of the game, but in my personal opinion the Gamecube still has the best version. I remember the first PC port and how horrible it was. I still play it from time to time, on my good old Cube, but I might get this version on steam. Seems like a decent update, and the price is just right.

@sacatash I really don't think anyone takes Pachter seriously. I mean the guy is so obviously an ignorant, and so biased, that no one will take him seriously. These so called analysts say whatever they want, even if it sounds retarded, and has no reasoning behind it, like it is the case. You make some good points on your post though.

This guy is making it seem that Nintendo is run by 5 year old's, and that the company is headed God knows where.

He is just Butt Hurt.

If by sketchy you mean all the Call Of Duty series for the DS, Goldeneye 007, Star wars battlefront elite squadron, Star wars the force unleashed, Blood Stone 007, all games that came out for the DS and they were mostly well received by critics. Sure not all games are great, but they are all competent and some are really, really good. I own most of them myself and they are all good titles. Also Geist for the Gamecube was a great game developed by N-space. I actually am excited about this title, and in my opinion they have proved they can make great titles, namely portable ones.

But we will see how the game is received by the press, even though to me that really doesn't affect the decision of buying it or not.

@Raxyman

I like consoles a lot, but i also play on my PC. I love steam too, it's usually cheaper and headache free. I get plenty of games for it all the time. They have their sales sometimes and you can get amazing deals if you pay attention. Pc is amazing, i like it to fulfill my sometimes need to have the best graphics possible on true (1080p) High Definition, and luckily enough i have a Pc that allows me to play pretty much anything maxed out. But as much as a like Pc, i still play on my consoles more... A game can be visually appealing, but what matters to me most is the gameplay and innovation. And that is why i like Nintendo. They try to innovate, and for all intents and purpose they usually succeed.

Good luck for your future purchases, and remember there is plenty to play on the DSi still. Search the DSi Ware if you want, there is something there for everyone and for very cheap prices. If you are on steam, perhaps we will play sometime!
