MicroSoft are making a business decision to focus on Kinect. I think it's a good thing. It has potential and I think that we should give MS the benefit of the doubt for the next year or two. They have always delivered in the past.

Outside of Xbox, Kinect has achieved some amazing things (just head to YouTube). Let MS have a year or two to fine tune things and get things right for the 720.

I think a lot of us have to understand that we really are in the minority when it comes to gaming. Us hardcore gamers are not the core customer base anymore. The core customer base is younger kids with higher disposable incomes and parents looking for an entertainment center that's easy for them to use and allows them to connect with their kids on the same level.

Just give them time. They will provide the hardware and we will still get fantastic games that suit our needs. Just wait, watch and maybe play through some of your back catalog like I am doing. :p

I think I will give them the benefit of the doubt for the time being. MS have been a great company with great products for a long time. I think it's too early to say that they're abandoning all of us hardcore gamers. There's still going to be great games coming to Xbox this gen, and remember that basically nothing has been announced for Next Gen yet.

An all-in-on media device is a good business decision for them and once they've perfected it there is no reason that they won't start pushing 1st party exclusives again. I personally am quite happy about all the content that gets pushed through XBL these days and I'd like to see more, especially if it falls under my existing subscription.

Kinect I am not so sure about (haven't bought one), but like that article on GS said; it needs to come included with the 720, it needs to be HD and there need to be some damn good games released for it.

Lets just say for the sake of argument, that gaming as a whole has become too casual and action orientated. With many franchises, if not all, succumbing to this trend.

Whether or not this is true, my query is why is one game franchise the cause of all this to many gamers?

Is it because it's the biggest franchise out there? Or is it a game that's easy to scapegoat?

I don't hate COD. Far from it. I bought every one of them up to MW2.

But now I just feel like they're trying to sell me the same game every year and I'm not interested anymore. Until something drastic changes with the series (which it won't because it still sells millions) I won't be wasting any time on it.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was a fresh, exciting new turn for the series and was by far my most played out of all of them. Black-Ops tried, but didn't quite make it. They need something new and fresh again to get old dogs like me back on the front line.

To paraphrase the great Yoda, "Graphics? Graphics not make game great."

I am wary about Star Wars games. I'll reserve judgement until we see a lot more of this one.

To be fair, if Sony had done something, anything... even just offered to take a look at my console I would have been happier. It was their completely dismissive, "We don't care, go shove it." attitude that did it for me and that was after speaking to a few people including a supervisor.

If they want to treat their customers like that then they'll soon find they don't have as many customers as they'd like.

My original Xbox 360 RRoD'd 3 times. THREE! but every time they fixed it no problem, quickly and gave me games and Xbox Live subscriptions to make up for it. As a result I bought the new Xbox slim as soon as it came out, continue my subscription with Xbox live, and love their products/services.

Customer service makes a big, big difference. At least to me.
