Kickstarter promised an Infinity Engine game, and that's what I'm seeing.

Can't wait for release.

I find more amusing that they can keep up packing 8 cores and carry a lower price...

Where do posts like these come from? Do people live in some alternate reality where Intel just charges the prices they do to be dicks?

AMD has roughly 10,000 employees, Intel has 107,000. Intel has to literally pay nearly 11x the employees AMD has to. They probably spend more on salary than AMD is worth as a company.

AMD doesn't build its own factories, Intel spends Billions on them.

AMD doesn't have to worry about maintanance, Intel does.

AMD contracts GlobalFoundries, Intel brunts its own manufacturing(and even now makes chips for others).

The reason AMD can sell you an 8 core for sub $200 is because AMD spends next to NOTHING compared to intel, and you're sitting here complaining about a $11-$20 difference between a power hungry 8 core monster, and an efficient, cool, performance per thread/core/watt 4 core chip.

Seriously people, get a reality check. If AMD spent anywhere near the amount of money intel does on chips, I can guarantee you that those 8 cores would not be $200

Another KickStarter game. I'll wait till relapse to judge. Wasteland 2 should make it out before it soon and its a party based RPG too.

which is also a kickstarter game

game is coming along nicely. Hopefully ill have time to enjoy the beta next month

Yea, that's why I said another kickstarter game. It looks good, but im interested in wasteland 2 due to the guys making it and they games they previously made.

This comment doesn't make any sense though, The reason InXile brought Obsidian onto the development of Wasteland 2 is because the devs at obsidian ALSO worked on the likes of wasteland/fallout/Icewind Dale ect... They were literally on the same dev team(Black Isle/Interplay). Saying that you are interested in Wasteland 2 more because of the group behind it while proclaiming caution on nearly the same dev team is silly.

Both are proven developers, it's why each got mountains of cash.
A while ago, we've announced our plans to add Linux support as one of the features of our digital platform, with 100 games on the launch day sometime this fall. We've put much time and effort into this project and now we've found ourselves with over 50 titles, classic and new, prepared for distribution, site infrastructure ready, support team trained and standing by, and absolutely no reason to wait until October or November. We're still aiming to have at least 100 Linux games in the coming months, but we've decided not to delay the launch just for the sake of having a nice-looking number to show off to the press. It's not about them, after all, it's about you. So, one of the most popular site feature requests on our community wishlist is granted today: Linux support has officially arrived on GOG.com!

The first 50+ titles we've have in store for you come from all the corners of our DRM-Free catalog. Note that we've got many classic titles coming officially to Linux for the very first time, thanks to the custom builds prepared by our dedicated team of penguin tamers. That's over twenty fan-favorite GOG.com classics, like FlatOut&Flatout 2, , Darklands, or Realms of the Haunting we've personally ushered one by one into the welcoming embrace of Linux gamers. That's already quite a nice chunk of our back-catalog, and you can expect more from our dedicated Linux team soon!

Now, for the recent titles. We've got some indie games with native Linux versions that finally find their well-deserved spot in our store. Among them, debuting on Linux, CLARC - a well received original comedic Sci-Fi puzzler. On top of that, be on the lookout for two new additions to the GOG.com catalog: Gods Will Be Watching (coming in a couple of hours) and Unrest:Special Edition (Linux build coming right up!), both of them very fresh and intriguing. This is the very first time we can provide you with all the PC versions of a premiere game, and we will continue to do so in the future. If there's a Linux version of a title we're releasing, our aim is to deliver it to you Day-1. But enough about us, let's talk about the games. Here's what you can be playing on Linux today:

Anomaly Warzone Earth

Ascendant

Bionic Dues

Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold - first time on Linux!

Blake Stone: Planet Strike - first time on Linux!

Bloodnet - first time on Linux!

Braveland

Surgeon Simulator 2013

Sword of the Samurai - first time on Linux!

Unrest:Special Edition (Linux build on the way!)

Uplink

VVVVVV

As if this wasn't exciting enough, we've put more than half of these titles on a special promo! Head out to the promo page and find out which of them you can get up to 75% off for the next 3 days. Of course, all of the games from the list above that you already own will be updated with Linux versions with no additional cost for you, just as you might have expected from GOG.com.

"OK, but how will Linux support actually work on GOG.com" - you might ask. For both native Linux versions, as well as special builds prepared by our team, GOG.com will provide distro-independent tar.gz archives and support convenient DEB installers for the two most popular Linux distributions: Ubuntu and Mint, in their current and future LTS editions. Helpful and responsive customer support has always been an important part of the GOG.com gaming experience. We wouldn't have it any other way when it comes to Linux, and starting today our helpdesk offers support for our official Linux releases on Ubuntu and Mint systems.

Diversity and freedom of choice have always been an important part of the GOG.com way. We're very glad that we could improve our service with the addition of the free (and DRM-Free) alternative to the commercial operating systems. Talking with gamers is just as important, so we're counting on your feedback! If you've got any questions, suggestions, or run into any trouble, just tell us in the forum thread below this post. Just please be gentle, this is our very first time with Linux. Happy launch day, everyone!
Packaging will either be in .DEB or Tarballs(for non Debian/Debian dervied distros).

By first time on Linux they mean 2 things(when referring to games):

1- The first time a game has ever been on Linux period(Wine Wrapper)

2- The first time a game has been on Linux with support and a money back guarantee(DOSBox).

I actually want to see more of these pseudo streaming devices. Steam in home streaming is great and all, but it only works for steam. Gamestream will cover a multitude of games steam or otherwise, so an Intel or AMD companion hardware equivalent I might also be interested in.

Tizen. It's something we've talked about here, and something that most scoffed at. Tizen is an operating system that would be largely controlled by Samsung in the way Apple controls iOS. (Samsung has flattered Apple on so many occasions it's become quite the embarrassment for any educated observer)

No it isn't. Tizen is Open Source(most of it anyway) as Android is, developed jointly between Samsung, Intel, The Linux Foundation and The Tizen Association(comprised of OEM's).

Think about Samsung's mission with Tizen. What a ridiculous notion, that a company with wealth, power, privilege, and resources like Samsung would attempt to differentiate their products from those of their competition. Samsung understands that android is no longer special. So why not employ some of those resources to make something different?

This however is an actual legitimate point. Competition should be encouraged, it's the spirit of the software. Plus Tizen is receiving actual support from the people maintaining Linux itself, AND unlike Android, is using a backend in C/C++ similar to Microsoft and Apple using their C superset languages. The result can only be a smooth, optimized android competitor due to the dumping of Java(Plus no more legal headaches from Oracle).

Android has promised "smooth performance" for years on end and have done so once again with ART(remember project butter?). I'm tired of waiting, I want results. Tizen looks to deliver them, at least as soon as Samsung can actually start getting the damn system out.

Mods are still decently plentiful.

How about giving us our Dedicated server software config files back? THOSE are something I rarely see anymore. I sure as hell want an option to still play online or be able to with my friends when company x stops supporting the game without having to use a 3rd party service or reverse engineer the back end.

This statement will probably be about as factual as Sim City needing a persistent online connection to properly function.

*Windows, Mac and Linux.

PC, Mac and Linux to this day remains one of the most redundant and stupid distinctions.
