Title is pretty self-explanatory.

Mine are:

-Free Radical Design (TimeSplitters series)

-Monolith Productions (F.E.A.R., Condemned series, Shogo: Mobile Armor Division, Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor)

-Bethesda Game Studios (Fallout 3, Oblivion, Skyrim)

@Epak_: I understand your concern regarding the current state of anime. Like I said in my blogpost, cliches and tropes should be kept to a minimum to ensure a fresh and unobtrusive experience while still preserving that distinct anime feel that most people are familiar with.

@mastermetal777:

I remember Extra Credits saying such a thing. But if games like Binary Domain and Vanquish are any indication, it's that good Japanese-made shooters are feasible.

The only good anime FPS I can name is Shogo: Mobile Armor Division, which was heavily influenced by mecha anime. It's an old game (1998), but it's still a great example of how an anime FPS should be made.

The last thing I want to mention is that character-building is not genre-restricted. Sure, it's harder to get attached to a character whose world you see through his/her eyes, but games like Wolfenstein: The New Order and TimeSplitters: Future Perfect still found a way to make you attached to your in-game persona.

@dragonfly110: I understand that it all sounds a bit weird. But it's something that's been firmly ingrained in my mind for nearly ten years, and I started talking about it only recently.

We might not get TimeSplitters 4 anytime soon, but there is an HD remake that's currently being developed by TS fans. It's called TimeSplitters Rewind.

@davillain-: An anime FPS doesn't necessarily need to be Japanese-made. Games like Shogo: MAD prove that even Western developers can perfectly emulate that authentic anime feel in the form of an FPS. And like I said in my blog post, even games that don't sport anime visuals can have a lot in common with anime (F.E.A.R. and Shadow Warrior are very good examples of such games).

Hey folks! With E3 right around the corner, I was wondering what game do you want to see a sequel to. Any game will do, as long as its sequel has yet to be revealed/leaked :P (sorry, Fallout 4/Dishonored 2 fans, but you'll have to come up with something else). I've already covered this topic in my recently published blog post "5 underrated FPS that need to make a comeback". Feel free to check it out if you're interested.

Personally, I want to see a sequel to Shogo: Mobile Armor Division. I need my anime FPS fix!

@davillain-:

That sounds like a nifty idea. Would your dream Gundam game be played from the first person view or the third person view (I think the former would be innovative for an anime game, but I bet some folks would cry foul at this design decision)?
