@KRHamilton You had me going there until the last paragraph when you characterized SWTOR as a "dying MMO." Stakeholders care about profitability and the game is making money for them, like it or not.
Peter Moore may be like the King w/o clothes. He doesn't seem to understand that most gamers can see how quality and meeting our expectations takes a big back seat to their obsession over profits. Ultimately, that's hurting their wallets and stock price.
@slainta you're doing yourself a disservice by not playing the earlier games, IMO. For example, Mass Effect 2 has a Metacritic score of 96 for the X-Box 360 and a 94 for the PC. The great majority of players also agreed that it's a classic. Mass Effect 1 was excellent too despite a couple of annoying issues. Just saying.
I was curious as to how these two terrific minds would adapt to the corporate culture of EA. Sorry to see them go, but I am grateful to them for their fantastic RPG's, namely Baldur's Gate, NWN, Jade Empire, DAO and ME 1 and 2. Thanks so much for the wonderful experience guys! And good luck with your new endeavours.
I'm especially proud of Ray who will be engaged in charities and other social projects. We need more people to give back to the world that we all live in!
Didn't the CEO for Age of Conan also step down soon after the game was launched? Let's hope that this isn't an omen and that history repeats itself with this company. I'll be disappointed if I read how they released a new MMO with little to no high level content (re: AOC) and/or with a ton of bugs (re: AO). Hopefully, they have learned their lessons. Till then, I'll hold off from trying this game until I get some feedback.
