Gears of War: Judgment producer quits Epic for BioWare

Chris Wynn to work on fourth Mass Effect game.

Epic Games senior producer Chris Wynn announced on Twitter that he will leave the company to work on the next Mass Effect title at BioWare.

The latest Mass Effect game will be getting some epic help.

He will be working as a senior development director for the project. There is not much information on the next Mass Effect title, apart from its not being a direct sequel to the past trilogy's story and the game's use of the Frostbite engine.

Wynn was the lead producer for Gears of War 3 and a senior producer for Gears of War: Judgment. Previous high-ranking Epic Games staff who departed include veteran designer Cliff Bleszinski and producer Rod Fergusson.

Sorry for double post but couldnt fit everything i had to say on first post. Btw If we get another disappointment I won't be surprised because it seems like lately all we get from bioware and EA is games that are rushed and short on content with the focus being on making as much money they can with the DLC, iOS , and multiplayer. So I wasn't surprised to see DLC on day one of Mass Effect 3 release and a multiplayer that's tied into a campaign with plenty of updates/DLC along with an IOS game thats tied into the campaign also. Whats even worst is when I saw that I enjoyed the DLC (which was made in a shorter amount of time compared to the actual game) more then I did the game itself and at times even enjoyed the multiplayer more then then the game too so i knew there's something wrong and start to wonder why some of this DLC wasn't already in the game since it would've made the game not only better but more complete and felt less incomplete or rushed.

I hope they do to the next mass effect game what they are doing with dragon age 3. What I mean is I heard that Bioware is gonna listen to the fans and bring back not only a big part and best of dragon age origins but combine it with the the best of dragon age 2 (not much). So if they do this and take the RPG Game of the Year of 2007 mass effect 1 and just add the best features and new ideas of ME 2 and 3 then combined we would have an epic game. I'm a true mass effect fan and even though I love part 1 there are things in 2 and 3 that are better for the game but unfortunately while they improved upon some things at the same time they would take out something too that fans loved about mass effect. Sometimes even simple and stupid things like looting for example before you could search things for equipment like crates, boxes, etc and enemies would even drop loot. That was taken out since ME2 and something as simple as having an in game inventory you could access and allowed you to carry your equipment up to a certain weight limit and you could sell your equipment to vendors or breakdown equipment for omni gel which I had hoped they would improve this system in a future mass effect and allow players to breakdown equipment into parts that we could use to build equipment or.just upgrades but that never happened. I mean just th fact that you could choose your biotic or omni amps and had both armor and weapon upgrades which they brought a similar system back for ME3 but still not the same and how about being able to buy and loot armor that only fit krogans, turians, quarians, etc and you could dress your squadmates too not just change skins. There were even licenses that you had to acquire to get better equipment which I thought was a good idea and we also lost that feeling of exploring planets on foot or with the mako which I thought they would someday expand and improve upon but didn't happen. I know some of these things might be simple and not a loss for some but all these things add depth and replay value and simply just add up and are some of the things you usually get in an RPG. There are more things Theres more but I'm sure I already said enough for people to realize what I'm talking about. I really do hope the next mass effect game will be a game fans will love and I hope they realize how imporant the next mass effect is and that it has to please the fans that have followed it since 2007

I just want pure old school style computer RPG in space from Bioware but that won't happen . Broader audience .

I won't even dare to hope that the new ME will be a good game. Bioware doesn't want to make great games anymore. They wan't to dumb things down for casual gamers who don't want to read or be a part of the story. ME3 is straight up garbage and they know it. The sad thing is is that they have drunk their own kool-aid.

i would love gameplay (gears of war), with RPG elements (mass effect).

GOTY for sure

Mass Effect has been dead to me since the last few missions of ME3.

Because if there's anything Mass Effect needs, it's to be more like Gears of War.

Let me go throw up.

Guys, remember that was bioware who accepted the money from ea. No one pointed a gun at Bioware. They wanted money and then the doctors resigned, to spend their money.

I like ea because their lauch games to all plataforms, so  i can play a game that it´s not exclusive to some other plataform. Yes they have their problems, but remember, Ea is a Publisher, they exist to make money. If you have a company or a business you want to make money too. They sell a product only buys who have money and/or want to. I for one would love to work with them... $$$$$$$

First it was the score of employees who left after Bioware was aquired by EA, then they got rid of the best video games writers they had - Drew Karpyshyn(shut up texas I don't fucking about your opinions so stop replying) the creators of the original and great Pre and Current EA Bioware are leaving...... It is no longer Bioware yet EA gets to keep the false pretense that the well respected (used to be) company is still working for them, but who from Bioware is left? 10% of the original staff????

No it's just like Gabe Newell said recently about EA's attempted acqusition of Valve and i quote:
"It's way more likely we would head in that direction than say, 'Let's find some giant company that wants to cash us out and wait two or three years to have our employment agreements terminate,'"
Gabe knew what would happen if he allowed EA to buy Valve. Valve would cease to exist and thats what fans have been noticing about Bioware since EA bought them out.
And yet there are gamers on this comments page who are excited about more "Bioware" games being made. (laugh) What a sad joke, Bioware is no more, you are being fooled by EA (AGAIN) into buying games based on a developers good name when the only thing remaining of the developer is it's name.
Don't buy into the deception and give your support to developers that deserve your love and financial support. EA sure as hell does not.

I don't think I've ever seen a company miss the point as completely as today's BioWare. Look, guys- I'm not interested in your open-world Skyrim-clone idea of what Dragon Age 3 should be; when I want that sort of thing, I look to Bethesda. I'm not interested in an action-focused ME4; there are plenty of other companies that I could buy a better shooter from, and very few that will spend time on the worldbuilding I enjoyed in the first Mass Effect.

You people have the resources to be the best at what you do. Why do you keep trying so hard to be generic instead?

(Yes, yes, I know. EA. Sigh.)

I did really try, but ... my mass effect universe died half way through ME3.  The fizz is out of the bottle and I don't even care one way or the other....quite astonished by my reaction, it used to be my most played game. Ah well, can't win them all.

Guess people here don't realize that this guy is also part of the new Mass Effect team.

Ultima V Lazarus and Kingdoms of Amalur.

Think this game won't have RPG elements? think again.

The Mass Effect games were the best games I have ever played, and I've been computer gaming since the 80's.  Can you say Immersion!  I just hope the 4th one is more Roleplaying and less a shooter... there are enough pure shooters out there.  The mix of RPG and FPS was perfect in the first Mass Effect, but by the 3rd one it was leaning too much toward shooter  :(

I can not work out whether EA & Bioware just dont understand their market or they are purely looking at COD / Halo with envious eyes.  Not going to be buying ME4 as ME3 was far too much like COD in space for me, but I guess I am not their demographic.

At least FromSoftware seem to know how to listen to their fans when they say "streamlined" turns out they mean "you will rage quit earlier" ;-)

Mass Effect : 98% RPG - 2% FPS

Mass Effect 2: 70%RPG - 30% FPS

Mass Effect 3: 20%RPG - 80% FPS

Mass Effect 4: 100% FPS

Thanks Bioware! We were lacking Call of Dutys! Now with your "Epic help", I bet you'll achieve what your pimp EA has been dreaming of!

No. NOOOOOOOO! Judgement was easily the worst Gears of War I have ever played. I didn't even finish it and I've beaten the other three AT LEAST 3 times. Judgement easily killed my interest in that series as a whole. Please don't turn Mass Effect into a crummy third person arcade shooter with boring characters and uninteresting story.

looks like fourth mass effect game will be named as "Gears of Mass" or "Massive Gears".

Having Gears of War cover system implemented in a Mass Effect (ME) game would be nice, since i consider ME's cover system a bit clunky.

@ruitaurus11 The Bioware people in charge made the deal, and they took the money and quit.

It's not like the regular workers got a choice.

Actually the 2nd one is more shooter than ME3....ME3 added more skill and weapon customizations.

@xeis-net I agree with you on the COD in space crap,it was way too much for me as well. I'll wait when the next ME4 comes out to see if it's worth it or not, but I won't get my hopes up either.

@Reuwsaat Except Mass Effect is Third Person Shooter. Not First Person. Or I've been playing an entirely different series. Or trying to control a guy on screen that wasn't actually my character. In which case I have no idea how I beat the game.

@texasgoldrush@CoolerlewThat is the most funny thing I ever heard... ME3 also added the crucible and the Catalyst, the difference is that not everyone thinks this should be considered a thing be to added, more like a subtraction...

@texasgoldrush @Reuwsaat oh god, gamespot never fails to amuse me... It's laughable, really, how people can have such a low IQ, or so little self-awareness. Ok. I'll try to draw it to you, maybe it's a bit easier for your understanding, won't judge you if you can't make it to comprehend as it may be a bit too much for you: You give me a reply, on my post, bashing me without a single argument (thing you use to prove your point, sustain a statement), then, still not proving your point, you bash me again, and tell me to come to talk to you "again" (let's repeat again that it was my post, therefore you came to talk to me yourself). What does all this have to do with Mass Effect? Nothing really, in fact I don't even know why am I answering you. I hope you somehow grow up some day, it can help wonders (but you may need to find a life first ). Good luck!
