Maybe Brett Todd shouldn't have been the guy to review this game. Sounds like he wasn't even alive in the 90's to experience these type of role-playing games.
As someone who loved the early Might & Magic and Wizardry series, I'm having a blast with the game so far. The soundtrack is well done and the story draws you in. So far the gameplay offers a pretty deep and challenging experience, something that's been missing in most RPG's of the last decade.
@bdixon76 I don't need or want all the motion control BS. Give me a damn controller I can hold in my hands. I applaud Sony for giving gamers the option!
@perkypossum You have to pay for PSN membership but it's worth it, imo. Considering you also get free games and discounts. I think it works out to $5 p/mo.. Doesn't matter which way you go, Xbox One or PS4, you will have to pay to play online.
I don't like EA and I'm not defending EA. I like Bioware and Old Republic is an excellent game. It may have its flaws and it may not be considered a true MMO but if you're a fan of the KOTOR series then you'll love this game.
Also, I'm aware of TOR's failure's early on, that's why I said it was a sinking ship a year ago. Had they continued the paid sub route the game would be dead but going F2P has caused the game to grow and continue on in the future.
Yep, that's why their sub base doubled since going free2play. The game was a sinking ship a year ago but it has rebounded nicely and its still fun to play.
