I'm not the least surprised that it was EA that abused these microtransaction practices so hard on gamers that it got the government to notice. They really want to win the title of worst company of the year again.

It started by cutting out content from the whole game and selling it off as DLC. And now it evolved to selling off pieces from whole DLC that they cut out from the full game.

The only thing I'm surprised about this article is that a Japanese even bats an eyelid towards this kind of stuff. It's like Tabata was living under a rock and isn't aware at the huge Final Fantasy related Anime/Manga/Cosplay smut they produce and consume over their. Maybe someone will release a blurry pixels mod to sensor the nudity.

Fanboys posts defending Nintendo are cringey. The Switch is so similar to the many tablets with detachable game controllers out there that a lawsuit was going to be inevitable. Nintendo files so many patents even if they don't get to use the tech just to defend against these lawsuit. I'm sure the courts will do the right thing unless you feel it's corrupted and can't be trusted which in that case complain to your politician to fix it..
