@Gladestone1 The difference is he is not commenting on developers, as in companies, but individual people. The whole story just seems like he is giving himself one big ole pat on the back for something he did last century, which his games were, generally, good. 20 years ago. But coming out now saying that no one is as good as him, just seems egotistical, at best.
@MrMan2000 And what's wrong with playing a non-M rated game with your kids as a form of quality family time? Kids shouldn't be playing M-rated games, unless their parents make informed decisions about what they buy for their children. But that is the problem. Parents aren't doing the right thing by their kids by giving in to their whining. Also, this sends a poor message that all games are responsible for violence. This is a slippery slope. Where do you draw the line at violence? I understand your point about parents needing to be in their children's life, but don't demonize the entire video game industry, unnecessarily in the process. Introduce a child to the right game at the right time.
