Don't get me wrong, this is a great game. But worth a review score of 10? In the video the reviewer noted that the story is pointless and forgettable (that seems like a negative to me, especially when other games on Gamespot are knocked for the exact same thing). No mention about the outdated graphics, I know that graphics aren't everything, but they should be worth at least a half point in score when comparing games against competitors. I can understand that a Nintendo DS wouldn't be comparing graphics against an Xbox one, for example, but the Wii U core games like this competes with core games on Xbox One and PS4.
Anyways, what point am I trying to make? That other games that are just as good should be able to get a score of 10 if this reviewer is willing to forgive things like story and graphics.
@RuthlessRich You can get within the ballpark using the average walking/running speed of a human and/or the average height of a human.
Granted... these game universes (like Minecraft) might distort those averages. However, the average walking/running speed of a human is usually a good metric otherwise you would feel like you are running too fast or too slow when you are playing the game. This is why driving a race car feels fast when you are playing a racing game.
Finally, usually game creators use 1.0 in floating point to represent 1 meter and model all their assets around that. It is just a matter of determining the map size or calculating theoretical limits.
@sonicare You can see the edge if you move the camera. You do realize you can move the camera right? I think the problem was that you were focusing on the boss and weren't paying attention to the arena.
@jobo52 @virtualskill The mechanics aren't clumsy. If you are a good at the game, it is easy and the lock on/camera movement feels right. I've never felt anything lacking.
@BurningUp99 @Lord_Vader Haha... you don't know what you're talking about. You state that sub fee games have more content added to them and that it is a "FACT". Do you even know what a fact is?
I think if you look at free-to-play games like Warframe, LoL, Path of Exile, you will see that they update on a much more regular basis. I am not stating it as a fact, because I am too lazy to go get numbers and metrics, as I assume you are as well.
@dbene They really need a downvote button. This guy clearly wasn't doing it right. You can get the console experience on a PC, just hook the PC up to your TV and connect a PS3 or Xbox controller. But you get the added benefits of paying $10-$40 less for each game and you can use a keyboard and mouse if you prefer.
Add to that the fact that you get to play the most popular games in the world (LoL, Dota 2, WoW, whatever MMO floats your boat) and you will understand why you were doing it wrong.
